I still say Nicky Hayden doesn't deserve a bike in his honor. I hate it when manufacturers do this crap. Where's my limited edition motorcycle from ducati? I have won just as many races as Nicky has for them.

Even still, he has managed to collect a hell of a lot more points than you ever could for them. Do you honestly think you could compete with that calibre of rider?

a sport is when you physically exert yourself, soccer for instance those are athletes, they run up and down a field, granted no the greatest sport but it takes skill and physical readiness, yes racing takes skill but it is by far athletic. riding in the sun yeah its hot, i sweat on my bike riding through twisties, does that constitute me as an athlete?

i don't agree with what people consider sports, its just another way for them to make millions in televising the races, once these guys make their millions they become bitchy whiny little girls....like nick hayden

So apparently you have never ridden a trackday outside of C class. Ask anybody who has ridden hard, whether that be a racer or just an avid trackday goer, it takes a hell of a lot of physical exertion to ride at an accelerated pace around a racetrack. Sounds like an athlete to me, using YOUR definition.

Like people have said in prior post, I am sure this is marketing to sell bikes not to make one in "honor" of him. Nicky is and will be after her retires a very marketable guy, people like him regardless.

As far as NC05600RR saying racers are not athletes...I see his point but they still are athletes, maybe not very athletic but we would never know that unless you knew them personally.

IMO a person who is athletic can play multiple sports and be good at them. Being an athlete and athletic are two diff things.

However,

Nicky is a world champion.

as in...

FUCKING MOTORCYCLE RACING CHAMPION OF THE WHOLE FUCKING WORLD IN THE MOST OBSCENELY COMPETITIVE SERIES IN THE WHOLE FUCKING WORLD!!!!!!!!!!

I can't imagine the pressure.... Just to show up and qualify....

Haters? shut the fuck up!

You would be a back marker at a local track day.

Saying that motorcycle racing doesnt require athleticism, just because you did a slow track day, is like a guy who sprinted 10 yards halfway fast and claims the 400m is a walk in the park.

Sorry, there is no award for biggest internet ego.

Back to the topic:

What was it? Oh yeah, that bike looks pretty sweet!

sorry to get off topic, whatever it is now, but I do like the bike. Of course I would most likely dump my dough on a hyper.

Hayden did qualify fourth today.

At first I was like.. holy shit this guy is joking.. nobody is this fucking stupid.

But then you made another post and totally confirmed it for me.

You did a track day, whoopy fucking do I'd love to see you do 25 race pace laps (Not your obviously slow as fuck pace, real race pace) and first off, make it through secondly not fall the fuck on your face at the end.

Nicky might be a limp dick as relative to MotoGP racers but nobody on this board could hold a candle to him on the track.

ok give me a bunch of mechanics a bike thats made to kill and about 10 yrs to practice, because thats what these racers have you ignorant fucking moron, they practice day after day, sure ill take you up on the challenge, pay my track fees, to me i have better things to spend 200.00 on, like upgrades on my bike, truck quad, things for my wife. u can go fuck urself, what track do you race on? what class? whats your lap times? i can't justify spending tons of money on the track going round and round and then having to buy new tires in half the time, granted i will do it again, i may go after deployment before my westpac out to pacific raceways. my point in this whole thing is which you obviously didn't get because you are retarded, they are not athletes, football players are athletes, soccers players are athletes etc etc...riding a bike on a track yeah it is mind boggling it was fucking awesome, it may be strenuous but it is def not athletic. you won't ever see a racer be holding an ice pack to his shouler after a race...

basically im saying I DON'T think they are athletes, granted it takes skill to do what they do, but anyone with the right amount of cash and backing from people with a lot of cash can get into it and devote all their time and energy to the racing they can be good at it. i have been riding for 8 yrs, i have crashed, i have had close calls, i am not talking out of my ass, i made a statement that u kids have nothing better to do than argue about it.
