Did they chop off the chicken hawk beak?

I thought that they were changing the name...

I always thought that I'd replace the Monster with at Multi.

The only thing official we have seen is that link above, we have not received any information directly from Ducati so far other than this tease.
Personally I am glad they kept the Multistrada family name.

The answers will all be revealed at the EICMA trade show in 10 days.

Can't confirm the details (because none have been shared with dealers) but here is a ton of more info on the "anticipated" Multistrada 1200

Cool.

Hope someone makes a MUCH longer front fender for muddy rides.

Nobody ever did make one for the old Multi. People would join a Monster fender to the Multi one making for a nice finished product. Don't they know some people ride/tour off pavement? Maybe there just aren't that many roads left unpaved in Europe?

Someday I think I want a Multi.

Oh, me want, very very much. Liquid cooled 1198 engine, Ohlins with on-the-fly electronic suspension adjustments (for an extra $5k), all with dry weight 425 lbs!! Could do w/o the ABS and traction control though, sounds like it comes with the Ohlins package. On the fly suspension adjustments - how awesome is that!?

Hmm, should I go to ORP today or play in the dirt?!

Any ideas on seat height?

Duckati... Quack quack. Quack quack. High tech meets fugli... in 2010 no motorcycle manufacturer is immune to the contagion.

OK. I demoed a Multistrada twice at the rally, really nice. I'm trying to find a dealer that would be willing to sell me one.

We have sold all we had left, some dealers may have one sitting still.. I believe Bend may still have one.. Ducati had a big push the past 90 days and most have cleared Mutli's ... I would be happy to go on the hunt for you but it is getting to be slim pickings.

I really liked the old Multi, but was just finally coming to terms with its appearance. And I thought the 999 was bad? Too bad it couldn't make it in time for Halloween?!?

We only have one Multi left, it's our demo with about 700 miles on it. White, 2009. Call if you're interested.

I Ride: because walking feels so awkward.
If I could only have one bike it would probably be a Multistrada. Fortunately I do have a Multistrada. It's a great all-round bike but it's not perfect. There aren't any perfect bikes. That's why we need more than one. The first photos I saw of the original Multi were not impressive but when I saw it in the flesh I knew I had to have one. I'll wait to see the new one in person before I pass judgment but it looks like the beak is for real. I'll be surprised if I end up liking that feature. The other thing that I am not thrilled with is the four-valve motor. I can only afford a Ducati if I can do the valve adjustments myself. I don't think I'm touching a four-valve.

I think I could live with only two road bikes. An FJR and a Hypermotard seems like a good combination. The Multi has a little bit of both compressed into one versatile package. If you could live with only one bike - but I don't think I can.

doesn't BMW have the same with their Dakar F650 (? on exact displacement, the smallest F-bike)?

Certain country require more coverage on the rear tire, like Germany. Most likely the US model won't have that additional part.

much better IMO

pretty neat bike but what is it supposed to compete with? Stuff like the triumph tiger? Really doesn't look that off road worthy

case in point, the front fender. It is too close to the wheel, gravel gets up in there will gouge the fuck outta the bottom of it. Also doesn't go back far enough to give protection to the motor, the way it is gravel gets sucked up and spit directly into the bike!

this isn't made for offroading one bit, it's a sportishtourer of some sort. Especially with those tires
