So after reading the gold star thread, i got a little jealous ... so i thought, why not have a best OFF of 2009 (permanent injuries and deaths aside, aka you walked away, will/are riding again)

i'll start it off with my get off. it happened Aug 13th, and the bike is fixed, minus the tail fairing, which i am currently making a carbon composite solo tail for.

sooo, heres what i was riding

this was the route i was riding ...

when i hit a BUNCH of this

this was the next turn ... stuff was EVERYWHERE

**IMPORTANT MESSAGE ABOUT GEAR ECT ...**

so i post in the general threads every now and then, but always find myself being obligated to throw my .02$ out there when it comes to gear. i probably shouldve been wearing more than i was for the ride that i was on, but I was not riding too aggressively ect. With that said, i was wearing: an Arai helmet, alpinestars jacket, icon gloves, Sidi vertigo boots, and jeans ... this is what happened ...

and the worst part ... ehhhhh

DO NOT EVER BUY A PAIR OF ICON GLOVES, EVER!!

and now the bike ... sad moment when i realized the sub frame was bent

BUT, shes all back together!

so aside from some narly scars and a hospital bill, it wasnt that bad, couldve been a lot worse

sooo .... gold star for best off??

Not to say I didn't go down, but nothing happened to me

Which icon gloves were you wearing? I have gone down twice in a set of Icon Mercs without any hand rashing or breakage.

wow all that damage to your hands and you were wearing gloves? were they leather?

leather "reinforced" palms, summer gloves ... didnt do shit

my old alpine star gloves made it through two lay downs with only MINIMAL damage, all aesthetic
