Don't seem to matter what the subject matter is, a lot (too many) of people like shows where the characters are yelling at each other.. & that show has it in spades.

Because people watched it. I thought it was crap, and the bikes they built were poorly designed, and built junk, but they did have a following. Kinda like Nascar.

About 4 years late!

That show was some of the lamest shit I have ever seen!

95% of the people wearing that OCC garb couldn't ride one of those foot clutch, hand shift choppers if their life depended on it.

I actually met and talked to Paul Sr. back in 2005, really nice guy. The show was scripted in case any of you didn't know... I saw them filming the one where Paul jr. dropped his keys in the parking lot and they "moved" his Mercedes for him. Jr. was a bit of a pompus ass but Sr. was personable, and not like he is on the show at all... As for the show I quit watching years ago, as for the bikes I would never buy one, would sell one if given too me and personally would enjoy the mark up just because its an OCC design....

well some people don't realize just how it is with those shows... Loosely scripted but I believe they got a bonus for destroying a door during a tantrum... Its all about money, sponsors, and ratings... I liked Jesse James' show(s) better personally...

I like the way they always had a deadline to get that overpriced POS to the customer. I wonder if Dave R. at Seattle Ducati does the same thing to get my bike done on time when I am comming to pick it up. I could just see him throwing things, Kicking doors in and yelling at Marty "Just get that SOB done and quit F#&king around Jim is gonna be here any minute.
Must be tough to work in the motorcycle Bus.

Like the show or not. Think the fans are posers or not. The show did make many more people aware of bikes in general. And IMHO that's a good thing.

Funny side note. When I was in SoCal I had a guy who's truck had OCC stickers all over it talking to me about bikes. He thought the Orange County in the show was SoCal not NY. Just had to shake my head.

I watched it in the beginning of the show...enjoyed it a bit then but don't like the bikes b/c of their unrideability...and the fat little brother? Mikey? Ugh, I wanted to straight strangle him. He was very irritating.

I didn't know it was still even on. Caught a few episodes of it years ago, but didn't care for the show or the bikes (theme bikes seem a little juvenile to me).

However, Mikey should get his own show because he was pretty funny.

I'd have loved to see them tackle a real sport bike. (as if...)

But Mikey? He was great! I acutally worked with a guy that was a lot like him... Always up, always in a good mood, always willing to lighten things up... I wonder where he is now.

Then he got sober...
and now that he is...YEARS of stepwork/therapists("the rapists, Sean")...
will help, for the decades of invalidation and ridicule by his family.
I always felt Mikey was monthly voted... "most likely to AK-47 the place".

What was amazing to me is how many time they said...
"just pull some crap off the shelf".
O-verpriced
C-lueless
C-ockeyed...
Especialy UNFUCKING COOL, was when Jr. told his fiancee... he was selling her
dream boutique building... to RE-finance his EGO. Also in the running, was the humiliating with "build" of the fake "music bike" for, was it Springsteen?... a TRUE enthusist... and the SHIT hole golpher" build and attempts of on par humor w/ Bill Murry... I RARELY use the term douchbags...
The DESTRUCTION of that EARLY HARDTAIL HONDA CHOPPER...
WAS UNCONSCIENABLE TOO.
The treatment of the Vet (Sargent bike) that came to work for them...discusting.
At least Rick was cool...

The producers of American Chopper used the tired formula they use on all the "reality" shows they produce now- "Pawn Fathers/Deadliest Catch...etc"

A iron fisted head of the group, the up an coming heir challenging the Alpha's authority, and the bumbling younger sibling/employee...

Most people I know who work on and build bikes are patient and leveled guys that can figure out designs and problems without resorting to yelling fits and throwing parts.

They had a good run, made lots of money with the show/DVD/merch/custom bike sales- now go away..
