Lady in a Subaru wagon pulls out, not in front of me, but straight into me, I go through her windshield ass-first as I watch my bike do the whole slow-motion thing across 3 lanes and get run over by a 24' box van. And the bitch says "I didn't even see you!" 3 cracked ribs, concussion, massive bruising and numerous lacerations and abrasions The reason I quit riding on the street for almost 10 years and why I ALWAYS wear my "Power Ranger" gear when I get on the bike |

Dude in the truck straight freaked 'cuz he thought I was still on the bike when he used it for a speedbump, he was dead white until he saw me sitting on the sidewalk getting glass picked out of my back by an off duty emt that witnessed the wreck. After this I only rode on the dirt for almost 10 years, and now I know why it's so squidlike to ride without at least my Armored jacket, double thick carhaarts and gloves. It took 4 years for all the glass to work itself out of my back, had funky little bumps that would appear on my back from time to time where the glass fragments would come to the surface. |

| Newbie Joined: Jul 2010 From: bellingham, wa I Ride: 2003 cbr 600 rr | About 6 1/2 years back a fresh newbie rider I was. Hopped on the freeway on my brand new Suzuki 500 with 4 months experience. Black mustang violently swung into my lane without warning, I panicked and locked up the front brakes doin about 70. Laid it down and slid across 5 lanes of traffic in Olympia rush hour traffic. Got up with some road rash and a big lesson learned. Noticed that as far as you can see in either direction that the only gap in traffic was behind me. God was looking out for me that day. |

Wont mention the no helmet part... ![]() Lesson learned: ATGAT and keep more space front and rear in traffic |

I don't know the exact specifics, but he broke 2 bones in upper back, 1 or 2 in middle back, and 2 or 3 in lower back, Lacerated Liver, internal bleeding, snapped his Shin Bone (tibia), and I want to think broke his arm/elbow. Know he had to have surgery on both legs. He said at first he didn't think it was gonna be that bad, then tried to stand up... That was 5 months ago, he's just now at a point where he walks without a cane (23 years old). He rode my CBR the other day, first time he's ridden since. Felt good to see a smile that big on someones face |

ER techs missed collapsed lung because of other broken stuff. When my wife arrived, she jumped all over them, said he is not supposed to be GRAY! | Training Wheels Joined: May 2009 From: Portland, OR | Riding around Hagg Lake with some people from pnwriders and tried to play "catch-up". Went off the side of the hill into a tree. Broke my left femur and left arm. Couldn't see traffic nor could they see me down in the embankment so I had to crawl out (with broken femur and broken arm). I army crawled my way up the hill and waved a mile marker I found laying beside me. Ex-firefighter saw me and pulled over. He straightened and pulled my broken leg so blood could flow to my foot. Bruce Pryor saved my life that day. |

Ended up on my team mates bike because the plastic got mixed up, sever rushing by the mechanic to get both bike ready. 3rd lap in at turn 8 high speed sweeper, bike high sided, threw me over the front of the bike. The following bike coming threw at the same speed nailed me squar in the chest. Woke up in ICU a motnh and a half later with all my ribs broken, left colar bone shatter, heart muscle torn in three spots. I was told had 2 jump starts in life flight. Took me 6 years to ride again. |

Yet they would be the FIRST to post up a rider down thread, just so they can be the one to post it first. Micheal - There are a lot of people who should be reminded every time they get on a bike. And if hearing someone talk about an accident they were involved in bothers a person that much they should stay off their bike. Because it CAN happen to any of us, anytime we get on to ride. |
