I Ride: Nothing for a while now (tear)
Supper Scotty says when he had his 06 ST1300 it would lift in both 1st and 2nd.

So Mr. O, the FJR really won't lift?

My 93 ZX-11 will in the first three gears, even with a passenger:

the busa will do it in the first 2 gears real easy. 3rd is pretty light but i dont think it ever left the ground more than 1 inch in 3rd. that is with no help from the bottle. i suspect it will stand straight up on the bottle in 3rd with no problem.

I rode an ST1300, not sure of the year, but new body style so pretty new... it would power wheelie in 1st no problem but I seriously doubt it would in 2nd.

I also very seriously doubt a 93 ZX11 will do a *power wheelie* in 2nd, let alone 3rd. But it just might with a passenger, passengers make it *WAY* easier to wheelie, with all that weight at the back of the bike puts a lot of leverage to help hoist it up.

Power wheelie: is when the rider is sitting in a normal riding position, cruising at a steady speed, and simply winds the throttle wide open. No clutch. No body english. No chop/whack on the throttle, and no bouncing. Pure power only.

So if you're R1 can truly power wheelie in 4th, I wanna see it cuz I don't believe it.
1st and 2nd are all I have tried and it comes up pretty easy in both.

I was only typing what my buddy said regarding the ST.

As for the ZX in third, it will just pull off the ground, nothing much, but it does happen. Could be the fact I am pretty light (145 right now)?

And of course it is easier with a passenger.

So if you're just cruising along in 3rd and roll the throttle open (no chop/whack on the throttle, tugging the bars, etc allowed) it will pull the front up? My 1000 with more power, less weight and a shorter wheelbase than a ZX11 wouldn't, so I have a hard time believing a ZX11 would.

Yes your weight does help. With the riding position of a sport bike putting the rider's weight forward, a lighter rider will have an easier time hoisting it up, but have a higher balance point. A heavier rider will have a harder time getting it up, (tee hee) but have a lower balance point.

If I roll on hard in third it will just pull the tire off the ground. With no tugging on the bars, or chopping the throttle before. Mind you it is just off the ground, but usually I have both my Givi hard saddle bags with crap in them (30lb?) so that adds some weight to the rearward bias.

Oh, it will only do it with a nearly empty tank. Full it stays planted in third.

06 Z1000, yes in 1st. I have pulled it up through 1st came down and it go right back up in 2nd. One time I came back down and it went right back up in 3rd at over 100mph. Scared the piss out of me.

I've always wanted to ride a Z1000. Looks like it would be an awesome wheelie machine!

my old c model with the 1109 kit, pipe and carb tweaks @ 154rwhp wouldnt lift it off the ground in 3rd. it got pretty light but no way in hell would it power wheelie. it was hard enough trying to get it 3 feet off the ground and holding it for more than a few yards chopping the throttle and bouncing it.

Alright, today I rode to church and since my tank was on the low side I tried it in third, as Gixxerpete and you have said it gets light, but does not come off the ground.

So I was wondering what made me think it could? This afternoon I went out and had both Givi hard bags on with a pretty decent amount of stuff in them. Sure enough it will just come off the ground. So the correct answer is that it will only in first, and second. But with goofy weighting it will do it in third, but I don't think having 50lb right over my rear axel really counts

I guess I was full of bulshit on that basing it off of the bike having the power to do it, my bad!

Kinda what I thought. So with that I'm calling the original ZX11 poster out: prove it. I don't believe it. Either that thing is geared -2 0 or some shit like that, or you're cheating somehow.

Read my post, it waas just having too much weight sitting over (behind) the back wheel.

I have totally recanted from my penis stretching first comments, I only feel things getting larger when I have a fat ass!
