I'm considering becoming a bartender for the moment (unemployment blows) but I'd also really like to be a cop. I produce music/DJ for fun, enjoy weight lifting and soccer, and would like to find some riding buddies in the area. If any of you meet me you'll soon realize I'm a bit like Robin Williams, I enjoy being goofy and making people laugh. |

| Newbie Joined: Aug 2009 From: Pueblo, CO I Ride: Ducati 1098 | Just signed up. Charlie, 38y/o 20yr Army guy (waiting to retire), married w/ 9y/o Son and 3.5y/o Daughter. Although I live in Pueblo West, CO, I am planning trips with some fellow riders to visit the PNW, and have some riding friends in that area, so will be looking forward to getting in some nice rides when we visit. After running through several motorcycle in the past 23yrs, I finally broke down and bought my dream machine, albeit new model, Ducati 1098 (base model), big change coming off an 05' Hayabusa, but welcome change for me. I've seen this site quite a few times over the last couple years, and recently took interest in the entire social networking, not so much with facebook yet (can't access it from Army network in Iraq) but message boards like this are an excellent tool just the same. Thanks for having me here, looking forward to sharing experience, help, etc. Charlie |

| Newbie Joined: Aug 2009 From: St. Louis, MO I Ride: 2003 Honda ST1300A | Hey, Steve Jones here. I was born in Seattle and have friends and relatives near Vancouver WA and down near Florence OR, though I don't live in the PNW now. But PNW roads were some of my favorite riding on trips I've taken from my home in St. Louis to the coast... one in 2005 and one in 2007. I dabbled in roadracing long ago (in the 80's) to no distinction, but had fun. I used to sell luxury seats to MotoGP and World Superbike races, which is how USMotoGPFans.com got started, but it was more a hobby than a business and I got out of it. Still a maniac race fan though... my wife and I haven't missed a MotoGP or WSB race in the US since 2005. Our two big road trips above were to Laguna Seca and back. I dabble in long distance endurance riding, having a few certified rides under my belt. And I've done a little LD rallying. But I am not one of the big dogs that do the extreme stuff (THE Iron Butt Rally, for instance). I call myself the "King of the Ferries" though... (see http://usmotogpfans.com/ferry if that makes you curious). I also am working on a website called "ridetoeat.com", which is pretty self-explanatory. I'll probably post in the state forums to beg for help loading good PNW data. Anyway, I'm jealous of all of you who get to live near all those great roads. Regards, ![]() King of the ferries! Stumbled across your guys' forum a few days back looking up some other stuff, you seemed pretty cool, so I thought I'd join up and make some new contacts. I ride a '90 FLPOS (F@ing Loud Piece of Sthuff) (ok, really it's a FLSTC - Heritage Softail). Nope, not a sport bike, but I don't figure that matters. The pavement hurts no matter what you fall on it from ... right? lol 42, Married, Secretary for a Red & Gold Support Club in TX - and enjoy meeting bikers from all over. I also am in the Confederation of Clubs ((TX Chapter)) and a supporter of the Coalition of Independent Riders here in TX. I think you have one there in Washington. Yeah, I know politicin' isn't much fun, but it does keep us free, for the most part. I love to ride, so I do what I can to help prevent bad legislation from being passed. Are any of you involved in those groups or other MRO's? |

| Newbie Joined: Aug 2009 From: West Seattle, WA I Ride: 1980 Honda CM400T | Hallo, Nathan from West Seattle here. I took an MSF course last month, which was more or less my first time ever on a motorcycle, and they saw fit to pass me for some silly reason. So I managed to obtain my endorsement with a grand total of 15 hours riding time, all of which was under 20mph in a coned-off parking lot. Then I went home and thought for a month or so about life, the universe, and what sort of bike I wanted, and eventually ended up with a 1980 Honda CM400 (I'm a sucker for standard UJM's) It looks like this: ![]() So I've been puttering around Fauntleroy and Alki for the last week or so, with occasional forays onto the West Seattle bridge and SR-99. Mishaps include dropping the bike while trying to back up on a hill (the forks/handlebars might have gotten a little crooked, so I straightened them? seems to be ok now...) and some guy who pulled out of his parallel parking spot on California while I was going by. I had to swerve to dodge his front bumper and driver side mirror, and he caught up with me at the next intersection and apologized. So far, so good, but then I haven't really had occasion to take it over about 50mph yet.Last edited by Indevolatile; 09-02-2009 at 03:01 AM.. |

| Training Wheels Joined: May 2009 From: seattle, Wa I Ride: 2009 650r | finally got around to using this thread.. knew about the PNWR forum but forgot about it until some one reminded me of it while i was talking to some guy at snoqalmie falls a couple weeks or so ago. so.. i have a german shepherd dog, no kids, a 2009 650r which replaced a 2008 versys. a 2007 piaggio mp3 250 was sold to get the versys, not because of speed or handling or engine problems, but stupid plastic issues (things like not being able to open the gas hatch) due to any number of reasons.. great scooter though and would happily recommend them other than not being able to fill it up every single time i wanted.. i tend to type in all lower case unless i really have to, because i am lazy and unless there is a specific need, and i type slowly as it is, why make it slower? would put a pic of my red 09 650 but i don't have one, combined with most of you probably have seen the press release them anyway.. |

You wont see another R1 like it. I love it when people get excited and say "Thats the new mercedes sport bike!" I just laugh. I am not really new here, I was a member since 2008 but I never really posted. I usually ride alone but I have a few friends who ride. I am always down to meet new riders. Although I must admit, I am a bit of a hooligan when I ride. |
