Started riding at 10 on a Kawasaki 90 dirt bike. Got my first street bike at 15. I've been riding ever since. Let's see... that's 36 years. My current ride is an 07 Ninja 650R. Got rid of a 2000 Concours to buy the 650R. Got tired of flinging that 700 lb. beast around. Hope to meet some of you one day. ![]() Last edited by Trukdryverchuck; 10-08-2009 at 11:24 PM.. I've been riding consistently for around 8 years, started on a schwinn with a purple metalflake bannana seat, never got the apollo 3 I was after. The forum is a great resource... happy to be here and always impressed when I see riders looking out for other riders on here. |

| Endorsed Joined: Sep 2009 From: Vancouver/Brush Prairie, WA I Ride: Yellow Honda 599 (Hornet) | Hello, Name is Pete, age FortyFifteen (55), married with 4 kids. Been a member since 09/26/2009. My wife and I have both lived in Vancouver, WA, since about 1986. Married in 1996! I have been riding bikes off and on since 1963 or so... After many years of trying, I finally got my wife to ride on the back a year or so ago. I got back in to motorcycles 100% in 2006 after a few years of "abstinence", or years wasted! Anyway, I am happy to be here, and hopefully I can ride another 25 years like the first time, without another major accident. I did get older, and I now realize, I am not Giacomo Agostini (look him up on Google), and I now try to stay within my limits, not his. ![]() Favorite saying: I am actually a very nice guy. If I had any friends you could ask them. Last edited by Old Dane; 10-18-2009 at 05:23 PM.. |

Canada I Ride: 2000 SV650 race bike,ZX14,Husky450sm Race bike,XR650SM,race and dirt,XS650 flat tracker,XR150 SM | Hello, another old fart (46)from BC signing in.I'm a self employed contractor who's a certified bike nut.Motorcycles are my passion. I've had lots of different bikes over the years and have toured extensively.Managed to put about 100,000 miles on the VFR's and Blackbirds I've owned touring around western North America. I really dig dualsport riding. BC's back woods are offroad heaven. Unfortunately i had a really bad accident in 2003 that screwed me up.Dumbass cager rear ended me going 30 at a light.I was shot though the Honda CRV's back window that was in front of me. It fubared my hip and damaged a bunch of nerves in my leg and groin.fast forward two year later and on my first tour since the accident i hit a deer in California and mangled my foot pretty bad. I'm sort of done with the street now and have started to really focus on racing, track days and motarding. Went to Barber last year and did Schwantz's school and now have my WERA license.I also picked up my WMRC license this year. I've run a few track days at Mission and Portland, and various tracks in California.I'm really looking forward to finally ride my mighty flying banana SV Seattle's next spring. she sporting my WERA number 665. ![]() Hope to see some of you out there. ...Eric |

| Newbie Joined: Oct 2009 From: Monroe, WA I Ride: 2003 ST1300 ABS | Howdy My name is "Joe" and I like to ride long distances and twisty roads. I'm 52 now but, I started riding when I was 16 in Anchorage, AK on a Honda SL 90 dual sport. Rode various bikes mostly off-road until 1997 when I read a book by Ron Ayres called, "Against the Wind". It was about the 1995 Iron Butt Rally and that tweeked my interest. I bought a 98 ST1100 ABS and proceeded to ride the hell out of it, modifying it for that type of riding (i.e., ergonomic changes, farkles, etc.). I ended up riding in the 2001 Iron Butt Rally and did well. Since then, I've had an 02 VFR 800, an 99 Hayabusa, an 03 ST1300, an 02 GL1800, and now I'm back on an 03 ST1300. I'm a computer nerd/ex-jock and also teach MSF classes on the side. Regards, |

| Newbie Joined: Oct 2009 From: Marysville, WA I Ride: 2000 Honda CBR600F4, running at least.... | New Rider Hello everyone! Name is Dusti, I have a wonderful wife, 3 kids(including twins), & 2 dogs(Boxers). I am an Idaho orignal but have lived here since 2005. I just recently bought a 2000 Honda CBR600F4 that was laid down by the person I bought it from. I am in the process of putting it back together and hopefully getting it running again. Once that happens I will get my certification and be out on the roads. I have VERY little street riding experience but I used to ride dirtbikes a TON when I was younger. Will be different I know but I have been wanting to get a street bike for over 10 years now. Anyways, I look forward to riding with some of you hopefully. See you on the roads someday. |

| Newbie Joined: Oct 2009 From: Seattle, WA I Ride: CBR 600 F4i | Hey guys, I started riding in March and I ride every day 2001 Honda CBR 600 F4i ![]() Of course the bike has changed hands a few times since he sold it. I hope he forgives me for using a photo he posted; it's very good and the weather isn't really photogenic lately. I got a good deal on it and it's an incredible ride! I'm 24 years old, but ever since I could remember I've wanted a motorcycle. Unfortunately, the only people in my life that I know who ride are my father (V-Max) and my uncle (VFR). None of my friends ride! It's awful. I love my family but I feel like I need real riding buddies. Hopefully introducing myself and getting active on PNWRiders is a step in the right direction. I'm going to have a few technical questions about the F4i. Power Commander--huh? It's got a lot of miles and mods on it and the seller didn't really know anything about bikes but he only had it for a few months so I'm okay with that. Heads up to the tech section--you'll be hearing from me soon. Heads up to the track riders section, too. I went to a 2-Fast track day in September on the GS500F and it blew my mind. Who wouldn't be hooked? Anyway, I'd like to get into racing or at least track riding for the time being and anyone who can help me with that would be amazing. Hit me up if you have any good info/advice! See you around! Joe |

Miss that sun already.. anyhow just wanted to introduce myself on this board. New to this forum, not to riding. I was referred over from another forum 600rr.net and highly suggested pnwriders.com. My only question is.... is the track up here only open during summer? Im a track junkie by heart and i think i'll be sad not to get on there if this rumor was true. Hope to see you around in my area and i'll drop 2 to ya. |

![]() Unfortunately, I know of no track days over the winter. We do have a Track Time forum though and that's where you'll find a lot of people (well, maybe not so much during the winter). Some will make treks south (Infineon, Laguna, Willows, etc.).

Yeah i have been reading for probably a month now lol, so i like it. I don't have any experience on a motorcycle. I rode a dirtbike once and fell over a few times lol. I was thinking about taking the Harley Riders Edge class, but trying to finish up my degree has taken priority. I went to Oregon when i was 11 or so. Crater lake was the first time i had ever seen snow.

It's a great place to meet lots of riders from the Portland area. I've only been once (far for me), and there were about 50-60 bikes there that night in August. You will make lots of great riding friends on this forum. I've gone on a couple of interstate rides with guys I met here. John |
