Discussion in 'Olympia' started by blubyu, Apr 19, 2009.

  1. I am thinking of getting my bike painted. I was wondering if anybody knew of some good local (lacey/oly/tumwater) custom paint shops. I don't really have much of an idea of what I am looking for but any help would be greatly appreciated.

  2. www.jonespaintin.com He is located in Puyallup. He did a tank on my last bike it came out great and his prices were good. Give him a try.

  8. I sent out some emails yesterday. I got a response from James last night. He is painting another forum members bike tomorrow and invited me to come up and take a look.

  9. Thats good to hear! I know you said you weren't sure about what you wanted, but have you got any ideas since then?

  10. I was thinking along the lines of some black flames or black tribal patterns across my blue paint and tank. Other then that I am pretty open. Those pics of your helmet are very nice :mfclap:

  11. When I first met James he showed me a gallery of pics of his work. I was seriously in awe and now we have a helmet he did....too cool :). He's a really nice guy too---wish he rode!

  12. I met with James last night. He is a very cool guy. He had his little hand held device with alot of his work on it. His work is amazing. Here I was thinking of just a cool little paint job. The work he does is awesome.

We talked a little about what we might do. I sent him a stock pic of my bike last night. He said he would sketch some things out on it and then let me take a look at it and see if I like it. I am not sure of my time frame for getting this done. I am hoping that I can get it done before the first of June.

I will update this thread as things happen.

  13. The cool thing about James and his work is that you'll agree on something and a price and then he gives you so much more than you originally agreed on for the same price. I think he gets all "creative" and you (the buyer) benefit from it.

  14. Hi all,

I was tipped offt o Jame Scott as a resource for custom paint by a user in this forum. I did some research on others around but went to James. His artistic abilities are amazing. I'm having him to a fire and Grim Reaper theme on my 2008 Suzuki B-king. it's a work in progress but here is the first glanes at the front fender. The flames will end up as true real fire looking flames Encasing the Grim Reaper. The flames will continue on the Sides of the tank and apear to fly off on to the tail section.
