Shout out to Thumper Pilot

Discussion in 'Bellingham' started by Ducatisto, Aug 23, 2010.

  1. Hey all,

I just wanted to send a shout out to Thumper Pilot for saving my bacon today.

After the Monkey Butt yesterday, I had recovered well (aside from the food poisening) and felt like going for a ride this fine evening knowing full well I was low on fuel. All was well until about a mile away from the gas station on Sunset when suddenly I could feel the life slip away from my duc. I coasted to a stop and was using my phone to find the nearest gas station. Then, a truck stops and the driver comes to my rescue. Coincidentally, the driver was a rider who I had met the day before as he also attended the Monkey Butt and we spoke briefly.

Long story short, he gave me a ride to the gas station and then back to my bike and waited for it to come back to life (which it did on the first try). So, thanks again Thumper Pilot! I was not looking forward to pushing my bike a mile and a half to the gas station...

Also, I am new to PNWRiders and relatively new to Bellingham, so I want to thank everyone for the awesome ride to Winthrop and I am glad to be a part of a riding community where people help each other.

    -Ducatisto.

  3. I am confused by your post, but I am not exactly coherent at the moment...

    Comraderie!!!

  4. Hey, no problem! Glad to help out and funny that we just met yesterday. 8)

I'm feeling about 85 percent tonight and think it was the egg salad from yesterday that got me.:scratchea

Should be good for a short ride mid week. I'll try to post up if there's no bike night this week.

  5. Sorry,

I was being sarcastic. i really love the S4RS Tri. It's a dream bike for me. And since you have one, i was poking fun:nana out of jealousy.

Your story was actually a good one.

It's more of a "you have what i want so i hate you, but not really........"

    have a good one!

  6. welcome to bellingham pnw, we'll see you at the bikenights :)

    food poisoning SUCKS!

  7. Lol, that's alright.

I tend to be sarcastic most of the time, but it didn't help that I was a few beers deep at that point.

I know what you mean though, I waited a very long time to find a Tricolore. It still hasn't fully hit me that I now have my dream bike. I don't know where you are located, but I am happy to show it and go for a ride. Let me know!

  8. Thanks! I am looking forward to the next bikenight! I should be able to make it.
