Cheap Hotel in Astoria?

Discussion in 'Astoria' started by Monster4570, May 5, 2011.

  1. Hey, can anyone recommend a cheap hotel in or within 20 miles of Astoria?
Mapquest shows quite a few, but I'm looking for the cheapest I can find.
I have to be at the Clatsop Community College from June 5-9 and don't want to spend anymore on lodging that I must.

  2. I know it's not the best time to find a cheap room on the coast, but it's worth a shot.

  3. Haha I don't really know of any cheap ones..well there is this one in westport Oregon but idk what its like. Its about 5 minutes from my house and it looks like it would be a cheap place to stay but its small so idk if they would have any rooms. And that's about 35-40 mins from astoria

  4. I'd offer to let you stay at my place which is 2 minutes from CCC, but I'll have my whole house up in new wet paint for my move the next week. I don't think the wife would be very understanding.

As far as hotels, I don't know any around here that are cheap. I always stay at the holiday inn, they at least have a nice breakfast and most if not all of their rooms have a fireplace and a decent view. If I recall rooms run around $100 and they have an indoor heated pool and a hot tub.

  5. Just sleep at Annie's.......................:)

  6. On second thought, she might be cool with some help around the house...lol

  7. lol Too funny. Not sure I could fall asleep in that place. Lay down in one spot and the multitude of diseases will instantly take you out.

  8. What's Annie's?
    (regret asking?)

  9. I think the proper term is gentlemans nightclub, but I don't know any gentleman who go there, just drunk smelly fisherman. or is the smell from the girls? Who knows, only went once, and I will never go back.

  10. You might check these out. They are all fairly close to the college.

It looks like about $60/night + tax is the lowest. If you could find one for less than that, it would probably be as nasty as Annies. If you have military or law enforcement connections (ie. veteran), you could get a room at Camp Rilea south of Warrenton. The price is probably less than $20/night, but it's about a 10-15 minute drive to the college. You might also check Seaside. They've got a few "cockroach" motels there that might be cheaper, but they wont be very clean. Another option is to stay at Fort Stevens, either camping or in a Yurt. I think Yurts are about $30/night, but you can secure your things inside and stay dry if it rains. Showers and bathrooms are nearby. If it were me, I would probably choose a Yurt. Check http://www.reserveamerica.com/.

  11. Joe,

Thanks for staying, had a good time while you were in town. Good luck getting that license completed.

  12. Heck Ron! I did all that research and he stayed with you? That's mighty nice of you.

How long before you pull chocks and move? Sorry I couldn't make the ride last weekend. How did it go?

  13. I did what I could to help out.

I am now officially in Milwaukee and OMG the roads are a disaster here. Glad we didn't buy a new SUV before we left. Not sure how much I'll be able to ride here though, potholes are everywhere. On a good note though, it's a nice 80° outside.

As far as the ride, I was the only one who showed up. So I just went back home and went to bed...lol

  14. Oh, that sounds like it sucks all the way around. I hope you can find some good roads, or else you'll need to get an offroad bike for riding on the streets.

Sorry no one showed. I'm still nursing my wrist, but hoping it will be good for a long distance ride in a few weeks. Not to rub it in, but it's been really nice here for about a week. I'm glad you made it out there safely. Keep in touch.

  15. My neighbor has a beautiful Ducati GT1000 that he keeps saying he wants to go ride with me sometime, but I'm always at work when he's at home. He claims to know some good roads out here. We'll see.

Sitting in Chicago right now for work. Rode the bike down to stay for the week. Damn hotel stil wants $43 a day for parking the bike. Glad I'm not paying for it.
