Plexus (Liquid Gold)

Discussion in 'Motorcycle Talk' started by Hyperbus01, Apr 29, 2012.

  1. I went into my local Honda shop to purchase a 13oz can of Plexus for cleaning my face shield and took a look at the price, $25.99. :scared My jaw hit the floor and I put it back. I've been using this product for years, but no more. I'll be looking for alternative products or ideas. Post up what you use while out on a ride.

  2. I just use regular Rain-X for the outside, and Rain-X Anti-Fog for the inside.

  3. Same here, Windex first to clean it then Rain X on the outside and Rain X anti fog on the inside.

Meguairs Gold Class Carnuba wax inside and out. Works as an anti fog and the rain sheets off like RainX.

  5. On a M/C'ist recommendation, picked up a can of Pro Honda Spray Cleaner and Polish late last yr to replace the just about gone Plexus.

  8. Honda Polish is good stuff.

Also, you can buy Plexus from Amazon for much less than your LBS. While supporting your LBS is good, they always seem to charge way too much for various fluids/polishes/etc.

I knew I should have qualified for picky douches like you.

My = was a a bit overstated, as it was intended as "basically the same results".

Use them both on your visor. If you can tell the difference, I'll be surprised.

  10. For sure! Save money, buy pledge! Who cares about the MSDS sheet!

  11. I,m just looking for an alternative that cleans, wont distort my vision, and won't damage my face shield.
    Thanks again fellas.

  12. Pledge will work fine! If you really want something that fills in scratches and polishes, Royal Blue wax will work awesome!

I have been using it on my Arai face shield for over two years. Here is the link!

  13. Try sprayway, I've been using this for a while now, and you can pick up a 4 pack at costco for around $12.

  14. I use this stuff called water. I think it's pretty rare, but probably a lot less than plexus.

  15. Water does work pretty well...
As long as you have a good microfiber rag.

Cat crap works well for antifog.

Pete, Check at 'The Airport' and, see what they are selling.

  17. I'm gunna try some Nu Finish on one of my FF helmet shields, normally I just use Pledge.

  18. Plexus is total unicorn tears.
    FYI Amazon is $13.

I thought pledge always leaves a little residue I never saw with plexus.

  19. I use unicorn tears as well but not on my shield, only when casting a level 30 incontinence spell on fellow track stars like Melbs5150.......

  20. I have heard this and tried it but the kitty litter left some deep scratches....
