Pro Caliber

  1. Is it just me or things getting worse there?
Gotta find another Kawi Dealer I guess.
I first bought a shifter bolt from them, took almost 2 weeks to get in.
I then scheduled a recall on my bike (valve gasket leak) Last Monday (17). The guy offered to schedule me in on Friday, but I took today instead.
So drove out there this morning at 10am.
They took my keys and such. I sat down (ready for a wait) and about 35min later they come up and tell me they don't even have the part in.
    DAFUQ?
They didn't care to call me to tell me my part wasn't in (so scheduling an appointment was dumb) but they had me sit for 35 minutes before letting me know... and yes, I was the first person there....

    /rant.

  2. I would have been pissed..Yeah time to find a new bike shop

  3. I learned my lesson a while ago. I don't go there unless I have to. For awhile it sounded like they were getting better, but stories like yours are more common than good ones. There's one parts guy there I trust, can't remember his name but I know him when I see him and he's the only guy I deal with when I have to.

  4. Just say no to Pro Caliber

  5. It was probably Ty but he's gone now.

They were getting a lot better for a while, the last year and a half or so. They finally had good solid people for the first time in a long time, and were finally starting to better their once horrid reputation. I don't particularly want to talk bad about them because I am friends with managment there, but they have lost their best people again and seem to be slipping back into their old rut. It's a real bummer.

Sounds like the problem lies with your friends...er...upper management there.

  7. Got another story...same vein.

Ordered a tire through them last Monday. It was a reasonable price and I was going to have them put it on anyways. Called back Thursday whereas they told me that the tire wasn't in yet but they would track it...come to find out it had been delivered under a different name. SO took the bike in on Tuesday at the appointed time. They then called me asking for the key after she left. My bike has two storage compartments on the "dash" in which the key was in one. I waited for the SA to tell them and listened to her laugh about the fact that they should have figured that one out. Checked Wed afternoon,,,couldn't find the tire again. Gave them the details I had and then got a call on Thursday afternoon that the tire was on. Geeze.

Must just be management at the Vancouver location. Nothing but greatness for me from the one in Longview. Matter of fact, bought the FZ6 there brand new last year. Great experience!

Had some tires mounted there and other goodies too. I know it's out of the way for lots of you but for some of you it's close to home.

  9. Maybe I could start working there as an "advisor" for a couple hundred an hour.

  10. Yup, Longview store is much better. The people there are pretty easy going and the parts people actually know a thing or two. If I need factory parts now, I just order them online and go to the Longview store to pick them up. Easy peasy. My tire mounting experience there wasn't too bad. Better communication would have been nice, but now I have Hoodview mount tires so that point is moot.

I took my own tires in there to get mounted. 20 minutes mounted, balanced, and out the door for 40 bucks plus tax. Awesome!

  12. My experience with having to order stuff from Pro Caliber is they rarely call to let you know when parts come in, although they claim EVERY TIME they will. I have brought this to the attention of parts manager(s) numerous times and it has rarely improved.

The only and only time I trusted them to mount a tire on my RD350, when I got it back, I should've checked closely. When I got back home I saw a significant crack in the expensive fiberglas front fender that I KNOW wasn't there when I brought it in. They failed to tell me or acknowledge it as their fault.

I deal with them as little as possible. Corporate dealership at it's WORST.

  13. I work in the same industry but at a auto dealership. ive offered to apply for their service advisor department a few times when ive gone in. They always say to check online. I dont think the service department knows exactly what they are doing, especially from the prior posts.

I took my k6 in for the frame crack recall and it took about 8 business days to get it taken care of which is fine because parts needed to come from suzuki and they had hoops to jump through to get themselves paid from suzuki as well. when the time came close to pick up my bike i called and was told i would get a call back, got busy at work and totally spaced it that they never called back. called the next day and was told again i would get a call back from my "advisor", that call didnt come within 4 hours so i called them. I was given the run around by one girl, then another picked up and said it was going to be ready that late afternoon but she wasnt 100% sure. so i called around 4 and asked how it was going and got the "ill get a call back" story again and didnt get a call back. So called the next morning and asked to speak to the manager, spoke to him, gave him the "im in the same industry and this is how i would like to be treated as i do the same" speech, he agreed and told me my bike was done and that was all.

It is what it is, they have stayed in business for so long for a reason. After Hannah picked them up i heard there had been a change but it seems to roller coaster how good or bad service is. They can never seem to keep a good crew in the parts department, i know that much. I dont think the parts manager is a very good choice for a manager, she seems better suited for working at a clothing store or something like that. A lot of the employees in parts dont know which bike is which, multiple times ive had to restate i ride a gsxR not a gsxF when they are searching for parts for me. A crew change in both departments might net them better results, oh well with enough customer complaints hopefully they can figure it out.

galenernest I bathe with candles, flowers, jazz music, and rub

I pretty much just use Pro Cal to buy tires or other parts that they have on the shelf. They've fucked up too many of my special orders (total of two orders with them and two fuckups).

  15. I have had nothing but issues. I had an oil change there for my wife's bike at 10 am. 5:30 pm I called to see if I could pick it up and they didn't have it done!! Good think I didn't wait!! They will be my last call. I told them I will go out of my way to go ANYWHERE ELSE!! Pro Cal will no longer get my business!

  16. I've been saying it for yeeeeaaarrrssss... friends don't let friends go to pro-screwthecustomer.

The other week I gave them the once a year, we'll try and see if they can do something without screwing it up call...

    Needed a 190/55 bt016 rear.
    - verbally verified three times that it was a 190/55, bt016 and they physically had it in stock (actually looking at it, not just trusting the computer screen).

So I get up there, she hands it to me... guess what size it is. (here's a hint, no 55 anywhere in the number)

Once again they can't even read, how the hell can they run a parts department?!?!

  17. I don't know if it is just the price of oil, but a week or two back, I go in to buy some honda GN2 two stroke oil for around 8 bucks a quart (not bad). I went in today and it was at least 10 maybe 11 bucks...for that price, I left the oil at the counter and went to buy some Amsoil Saber Professional w/ a JASO-FD ISO-EGD rating down the street at Cost-Less Auto parts. <--cheapest oil i know w/ a high rating like that...

I think GN2 was just around 8 bucks @ Estacada motorsports for a comparison, but I don't get out that way much!!!

  18. Yeah, I stopped going there a long time ago. Last time i went to get tires changed it took two days longer than quoted. when I finally went to pick it up, they couldn't find my keys. 45 mins later turns out a service guy had gone to lunch with them in his pocket!!

Never again, they sure know how to put the PRO in Procaliber :angry7:

  19. Got it done finally. almost 3 hours on to do.
Hopefully my bike doesnt fall apart now.
