...yet another "first bike question". Here's my story - I've ridden quads and dirtbikes since about 5 years old. At 17, my dad bought an old Goldwing to ride to work, and told me to take it up the road....so I did. That was the very first road bike I hopped onto...a friggin' Gold Wing. He said "it's just like riding a dirtbike". Well, not quite, but needless to say, you learn to counter-steer pretty quick with a GoldWing. I rode that thing a little bit. He sold it, and bought a Honda VTX 1300. So, I got my endorcement, and have been riding his VTX for 2 summers. I've since ridden my grandpa's little Yamaha Virago (sp?), my friend's new little Honda Rebel, my other buddies old 600 ninja, and my mom's 750 Shadow. Anyways, I'm pretty confident to go hop on a bike and try it out now. Anyways, I just want my own bike now, and am looking at an f4i. What do you guys think?
Since you've been riding dirt bikes for a long time, the f4i isn't a bad choice. Have you taken the MSF course? Highly recommended. man if u can ride a goldwing and a vtx1300 id say go for it, just respect the bike. i would be more worried bout jumping on a goldwing, lean over too far at a light and that thing would bury me :scared
Yeah, hindsite's always 20/20. I really didn't have a clue how heavy that tank-of-a-bike was. That VTX is a nice bike though....very torquey. I just can't lean into the turns as much as I'd like to because the pegs hit. :angry7:
