KFG Racing Announces Race Tire Vendor Partnership Modification from Dunlop to Pirelli
Press Release From Road Racing World This Morning

KFG Racing, based in Kent, Washington is excited to announce a comprehensive vendor partnership with Pirelli Tires/CT Racing in the Pacific Northwest for 2012.

KFG Racing will continue providing tire service for many Washington and Oregon track days, as well as all WMRRA and OMRRA race series.

“We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Dunlop for their services throughout our 6-year relationship and wish them all the best as they continue to support the road racing world. Albeit a difficult decision, our long-term business objectives required we entertain new and more profitable opportunities. After initiating a dialogue with Pirelli recently, we realized close similarities in our business models - this, along with CT Racing’s impressive line-up of champions and loyal customer base, warranted our decision to make the change.

Our staff is very impressed with their full line of aggressive tires, product availability, and competitive advantage pricing,” says owner of KFG Racing, Barry Wressell.

In the next week, KFG Racing will be releasing more information about our 2012 program, including racer pricing, sponsorship programs, WMRRA and OMRRA contingency. We are now accepting resumes for the 2012 season; please forward your information to info@kfgracing.com.

This is some excellent news!

In my opinion both Pirelli and Dunlop produce a great product that is more than capable of winning races and keeping trackday riders glued to the track all around the world. The Pirelli price point is certainly more appealing and we all know that the real magic is the suspension setup which makes the tires and machinery work to their maximum design capabilities. Barry brings years of experience and extensive hands on suspension tuning "magic" to the table.

Combine excellent race tire technology with Barry's expertise and you have a homerun.... Then add in the entire KFG customer service and lower tire pricing available through Pirelli --> NOW YOU HAVE A GRAND SLAM !

According to KFG's FB, there's no more Dunlop inventory.

Not that there is such a thing as "closeout" prices anyway. Dunlop is effectively pricing themselves out of the market. $534 for a set of slicks is insane.

Dunlops have been the best performing tire up here for several years now, but I'm sure part of that was due to KFG's influence. I'm looking forward to seeing that expertise applied to a less-expensive tire.
