Not sure what the guy on the black V-Twin's name is but he got pulled over just coming out of Gorst, not sure why??? Maybe no turn signal on lane change??? See you all next wed. |

Wonder if he got a ticket? Hopefully not. I won't be on the Wednesday night ride for a few weeks. |

He was in front of me, changed lanes, then got pulled over. Yea hope they were just checking for endorsment or the new helmet deal. |

Supposedly they can pull you over to check, kinda like a seat belt. I'm not swearing to this, but it's what I've been told by multiple people. I think their more after the helmets like some of the Harley guys wear. By the way Jim where have you been? I know the tard is faster than the rest of us but you can still come ride... Gonna take the shift shaft out tomorrow and see what is up with it. Keeps dribbling oil out the seal. And I heard (who knows if it's true) that there are no "specs" for the DOT to use to approve or disapprove helmets... |

It's not like anyone actually did any testing to see if it's true or not, they just "certify" that it is. When you purchase a helmet with a SNELL sticker on it, it means that a certain number of helmets were randomly selected from that "batch" and subjected to destructive testing and that all of the test-helmets passed the minimum-requirements for SNELL certification. To summarize: SNELL certification means that someone did some work and investigation to determine that the helmet meets a minimum standard, whereas the DOT certification simply means that someone who works for a helmet-manufacturer says that the helmet is "up to snuff". A surprising number of DOT helmets regularly fail testing when the DOT does go out and sample a few: http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/testin...8/2008s218.pdf |

Last week there were only I think 5 of us, so we just did Tracington. I say we talk about it once we get there. Anyone have some hockey pads or multi purpose knee pads (if you're into that sort of thing) we could use Wednesday at 5? and who is down for that? |
