Soooooo.......I got a little commuter scooter on the cheap.

2001 Yamaha XT225. She's shod in some street biased Kendas, but should be suitable for some good times on the trails.

If anyone wants to do some dual sportin', lemme know......

Those are WAY LOW GEARED.
You may want to change the sprockets around for the street.
It would be a great "Grocery Getter".

Heh,heh....yep, gonna work on the wheelie thing now.

I'm starting to get you and Brian a bit more now......OOOOooo look**swerve** mud puddle! Rode Dewatto the other day....I would have turned the D6 back because of all the wet leaves covering the road, don't like risking all that purdy plastic.....The XT motored right through the yuck, no worries!

This little bike weighs NOTHING!!!!!!!

Indeed Sir. That was the dream, but not the budget, lol. I'll learn to slide this little scoot around a bit, then mebee a DRZsm next year.

I can't see putting any money to speak of into the XT.

Now if only Triumph made a supermoto......

Every bike has something to teach you Cat. Those little bikes are pretty good at teaching you about corner speed and how to slide it....

Lesson one: DO NOT think that one can lean to the inside and hang off a bit on cheese Kenda dual sport tires w/o skills. Apparently one runs out of tire much more quickly than if on a pp2ct on a supersport.

Yea.....that was a moment......

Gotta look up dirt/sumo style.....Reasearch and apply.

As for you Rick....You should have heard my language at the time.....Def qualifies as most dirty.

You are gonna have a lot of fun on that little bike, next thing you know you'll have a DR650 and a bunch of ADV stickers on everything.

Go get yourself a Shoei Hornet to match.

Your white boots are gonna get muddy. Time for a set of Sidi Crossfires.

And a MT21 for the front and D606 for the rear of the bike.

Oh wait, you seem to be headed into supermoto,... different animal, nevermind.

Yea Mike, I've been working in town. HATE IT!!!! Ferry doesn't work with my groove. I'm spendin 3 1/2 hours in commute/wait time each day. Just placed a bunch of resumes over here today. Wish me luck.

Got on the Daytona for the first time in two weeks yesterday. NO riding time. Absolute sadness.

you do know that with that new XT225, you get head of the line priveledges at the ferry. First on, First off, you never miss a boat, and you get to drive right up to the terminal past all those waiting cars.
If you have to commute to seattle.... motorcycle is the only way to go.
I need a new dirty light weight whip

Hiya Russ!!

I was working at Campagne.....1:10p over 12:15a back, 12:45 on Sat/Sun. There were no jobs happening over on this side. But.....I just got hired at Cafe Nola on Bainbridge, and will be starting on Monday.

Yea Brian, the bike ferry thing is sweet. My fave move is when ya get there and the boat is loading, go around the cars to the front. Squeeze into line and take the top deck, (if still not loaded,) to the front of the boat.

Don't forget you also get to use carpool onramps and lanes. A carpool onramp could save you 10-20 minutes a day.
