Dyno Tuning in Kitsap?
Just ordered some parts to make the zx6 a legit track bike, including an Akra Race System and a PC3.

Any good places in kitsap for a dyno tune?
How much am I gonna be looking at price wise?

Brothers has a pretty good tuner. Kinda famous actually.
MaxRPM has a bike dyno too.

Price? make the calls. 3 years ago it was $300 give or take.

If you want a custom map you want Mike Velasco at Brothers. If you just want a custom map installed for a higher price go to Max RPM. I used to work with Mike at Brothers and he is literally know around the world. Mike actually performs a custom map for your bike in this area. The Max RPM guys just install a pre-programed custom map that was established by dyno jet in California. If I'm right the price at Brothers is like $350.00. Tell them Tony sent ya their way.

May i ask where you got the info MaxRPM charges $350.00 to load a pre-programed map?
I know Alex at MaxRPM and have never known him to bend anyone over for something they could load themself.
Now if either Brothers or MaxRPM charge $350.00 to make a single map (one map for all cylinders) that price is right on.

Mike Velasco does have a good rep for tuning bikes, just allow time and don't expect it to be done just because the weather is nice.

Ducati Seattle has a very nice dyno set up and the prices are about the same.
$350.00 to build a single map for all cylinders.
$350.00 + $100.00 each extra cylinder if you want to map each one separatley.
Marty Dahl has a rep like Mike V., been doing it over 30 years and knows exactly what to do.

If you are calling around prices and schedule time you may want to include them.
Ralph in Service can answer all your questions.

We had a customer come in with a cruiser that he had Max RPM install some pipes and dyno tune his bike. When he brought it to us with some complaints of the way it was running he showed us his invoice of what Max RPM had done. They charged close to $1000.00 for "install pipes and install custom map". When Mike put it on the dyno and ran it he said he could tell right away it was a standard "dynojet tune". He then tuned it and was able to gain like 28-32 hp or somewhere around there. We only charge $350.00 for a single map and $400.00 for a dual map. I don't know what Max RPM charges but I remember the way they worded their invoice had them in the clear. I'm not bad mouthing another shop, thats not my style. I'm just giving advice from personal experience. Alex would come in all the time to get Ducatti parts from us and seemed to be a cool cat.

I've also seen some liter bikes get tuned by Max RPM and then come to us, and Mike would say if he could get you more power the tune was free. Needless to say I've never seen a free tune given out.

I've known Alex for a long time. I don't go there. Seen too much.

I think you wanted to say "couldn't get you more power the tune was free"?

The increase of 28-32 hp with just a PC and pipe sounds pretty steep to me.
If so i bet he was a very happy customer.

There is many dyno shops in Seattle too.
I had a custom Map done for the 14 at MaxRPM.
for $300.
I'd give Mike a shot at a remap, but then I see and hear stuff like the overhyped post above and I change my mind.

I like everything I hear about Mike, only good things ever said about him. Only bitch is the busy guy thing.

Now Brothers on the other hand......., well lets just say I keep my hand on my wallet when I darken their doorstep.
I wont talk about some of the deals I've seen.
If he would move out of there I would be a customer of his in a heartbeat. As it is....., I'm happy with my map.

Back in their Poulsbo days when they were one, enough not to see either today!

Mike V. as a supertuner for Freddy Spencer and Pops Yoshumria, super guy!

I do some machine work for Mike from time to time during the race season. I was in there talking about some piston tops and noticed an early 60's 4 valve teeny tiny head. I recognized immediately as a Honda Factory 50cc head. I asked mike, kinda laughing if I could just touch it. He said sure. Belongs to a friend of his that has some exotica..
Very cool stuff.

I had Mike work on my first Duc. Was very pleased indeed. He's 'the guy' in Kitsap. That said, I've had all the work on my current Duc done at DucatiSeattle. Yes, it's worth my time to go there for the work. Spent about 45 minutes talking to Marty about some tricks to wring a few more ponies and fix some drivability issues on my ride (it's running rich across the board). It's not cheap but I trust what they do. That's where mine is going when it's time for a multi-cylinder map (they have to pull part of the exhaust and weld in a port for the wide-band, and they will do that!). The debate I'm having is PC-III or Nemesis ECU, both will require significant dyno time to get them spot on.
