| Pit Crew | Mikefsu's service I just received confirmation of the date and time of Mike's service. It will be September 12th, 10:00 am, at the Jackson Park Chapel here in Bremerton. This will be the service with full military honors. Afterwards, he will be escorted to Florida, where they will hold another service, and he will be buried. The motorcycle community is welcome. Mike's mother would like his son to meet his riding friends. Edit: I've got a few more details for you on the location, parking, and reception. Location: First of all, don't make my mistake and go to the OLD chapel. If you are at a one-story building with grass growing on the top, you're at the wrong spot. (Imagine my relief when I realized that this was not, in fact, where they were planning the service.) The correct address for the new chapel is 90 Olding Rd., Bremerton, 98312 The phone number for the chapel is 360-476-7445 Coming from Bremerton, take the Austin Drive exit and turn right. The first road you can turn right on is Olding. The chapel is the 2nd new building on the right - with the electronic reader board and the childcare center in the same parking lot. The parking lot is one way, and the easiest way to get to the chapel is to park behind the building and go up the steps. Parking: I suspect that parking will be a total pain. In addition to the service, there is a retirement seminar taking place at the same time. I recommend carpooling, taking your bike, arriving early, etc. Reception: I've decided to hold a reception off-site so that we have a spot to relax, trade stories, show silly photos, etc. Everyone is invited. It will be immediately following the service at the Bremerton Yacht Club, 2700 Yacht Haven Way. (Just a heads-up to watch for the school zone on the way out there. Also, be aware that this isn't the Yacht Club Broiler in Silverdale.) I think that's about it for now. Let me know if you have any questions. Last edited by Candiya; 09-08-2012 at 11:41 AM.. |
