Hello fellow Klamath riders. My husband (spyder20) and I both ride. I will let him introduce himself. This is my second full summer riding. I have a nice little starter bike that I fixed up. It is a '99 Ninja 250.
I am finishing up my Master's in Ashland, so I am riding back and forth throughout the summer. Unfortunately I will not be in town July 1st for the BBQ. Spyder20 might make it, but he will have to drive. He had knee surgery about 7 weeks ago and doesn't quite have the range of motion to get back on yet.

Hey everyone, Im Ian. I picked up my first bike back in May. Its a 2008 Ninja 250R.

lol Nothing fancy, it gets 70mpg and gets me around and Im a begginer. Im already contemplating on getting a '08 GSXR 600, but I'll have to wait until next year for that.

I know of about 6 or 7 other guys in town who ride. I'll let them know about this forum.

Hey all,
Somewhat a lurker on this forum, but have had a bike off and on for a lot of my life. Right now I have a 2000 ZX-12, and a 1990 EX 500, both Kawis of course. Riding the EX to work, and the zx on the weekends....I mess with cars, the house, and other hobbies an awful lot, so the bikes tend to get pushed aside sometimes. I go to Cali to fight fires for a month and come back to a new section full of locals, and 2 people I already know just makes it even better. Living out in Sprague River and ride a 90 Katana 600. Picking up my new rear tire tomorrow, so I should be able to get some riding in soon (whenever I'm home between fires that is).

Hey All, I work for JELD-WEN and recently picked up a '78 Honda CX500. I just started riding and I have a penchant for the weird and quirky so this bike fits me just fine so far. No pics yet 'cause I'm lazy and haven't gotten around to it yet.

Which Jeld-Wen facility you work at? The wife works for the plant in Chi. My first bike was a 1980 CX500 Deluxe. It wasn't the fastest bike in the world , but it was still faster than my friends brand new '86 Harley with the EVO engine in it lol. It was real comfortable on long rides, other than the noticable heat comming off the cylinder heads right in front of the knees on a hot summer day ride (I lived in the Mojave desert when I had mine). It was also the most reliable bike I've ever owned, so you could have made many worse choices.
Edit: After talking to the wife, you may be the same Jake I know.

I work in the Tech Center for the Product Development Group, Windows division (Vinyl & Al) as a Product Engineer. I did intern up at the Chi plant over on the Pre-hang side. That was the summer of '06.

Unfortunately I am working a Team Oregon course this weekend out at KCC. We start up at 0730 though so if you guys ride by us honk or something. Next weekend my wife and I are riding to Grants Pass on Friday then over to and down the 101 to Arcata for a visit. Boy do I love that ride.

Humboldt9R turned me on to this site and it's way kewl to see stuff happening in Klamath. I ride an '01 ZRX1200R which sometimes has a MUZZY exhaust...at the moment it's straight-piped with a bit of nitro-methane in the tank. I'm looking forward to Wednesday. Humboldt just put a new skin on his bike so tomorrow afternoon we are going to make a run to scrub it if anyone is interested...

if you have a little time take greyback down to 97 and then out to 299 into arcata. take it from me. i have ridden or driven down home to humboldt literally a hundred times since moving to medford. and although 199 to 101 is the quickest way, i now find it VERY boring. the other way is probably 5 hours, so only an extra hour + or - a 1/2 hour.

I didn't choose 101 for time. My wife and I like the trip down the coast, and hate Redding's heat. Stopping in Grants Pass for the night. Wake up early and have a relaxed ride to Arcata. 299 is a better ride, but my wife and I are out of practise riding twisties 2 up.

I ended up swinging my the bike night downtown last night and ended up talking to Marc a good deal. He gave me a business card and well, here I am.

I've been riding a '96 Ninja 250 since 2003, and have a couple bike projects sitting on the back burner.

I've been wishing for a more sports/touring oriented site to appear that actually has KFalls on their map. So, cool!

Yeah, that was me with the beer case.

I had a buddy visiting last weeked from Roseburg, and not to burst your bubble, but I don't drink much, and I prefer sake over beer anyway. But my buddy, oh yeah, he put them away. Figured while I was out running errands (taking said cans to be redeemed), I would swing by the 'bike night" I had seen a notice for over a Tread and Track.

Normally I have something else going on Wed. evenings, but this week I found myself free.

Look forward to actually meeting more of you, maybe catch some rides!

Welcome to the forum, sorry I didn't get a chance to meet you at bikenight. The wife and I had to leave early and pick up dinner on the way home, and wanted to make it back to Sprague River fairly early since she has to get up for work in the morning. What bike projects are on the backburner right now? Are they other bikes you already have but just need to do a little work on, or future upgrade plans?

A couple years ago I picked up a '86 Concours for my wife and I to do two-up riding on. The plan it to take our time, go through it system by system, and have it all up and running by the time our younger son is really to spend weekends at grandma's. Its a little large, and a little heavy, neither my wife or I are large people, we might rebuild it and decided to go with someting a little smaller, like a PC800. We've sat on one and it was incredibly confidence inspiring.

The other parts bikes are a pair of Ninja 250s. It looks like I will have enough parts to build a very nearly complete bike for my wife, and a friend might be willing to buy parts to finish of the 2nd bike so he would have a bike of his own.

My older son isn't much interested in motorcycles in general, but my younger one is just a fiend about them. I actually have my wife's approval that if we can budget it, I will eventually own a DS and be able to trail ride with either of my sons, when we can get around to getting some some little bikes.

All in all, I am really glad to see the spectrum of sport bike types represented here. I've also really appreciated the "you ride" not "what you ride" is what matters attitude I have been met with.

I am from Klamath Falls and ride almost every day. I'm on my fourth tire of the summer if that gives you any idea. I have an 06 ZX-14, 01 Buell Cyclone, and a 98 CR500R. I picked up a nail in my rear yesterday but I think i can get her back together in time. I may be a few late but I'll be there on one bike or another. He gave me a business card and well, here I am. I've been riding a '96 Ninja 250 since 2003, and have a couple bike projects sitting on the back burner. I had a buddy visiting last weeked from Roseburg, and not to burst your bubble, but I don't drink much, and I prefer sake over beer anyway. But my buddy, oh yeah, he put them away. Figured while I was out running errands (taking said cans to be redeemed), I would swing by the 'bike night" I had seen a notice for over a Tread and Track. Normally I have something else going on Wed. evenings, but this week I found myself free.
