I cant get the week off for the scoot rally I went last year and it was a blast! I am taking the Burgman to the sportbike rally over the weekend and will try and represent all maxi scooters I think next year I may do both of them.

Having a scoot at the sportbike segement is not a problem. In years past several maxi scoot owners helped out running checkpoints on the sportbike poker run which was cool.

Well I'll chime in just to say that, barring some unforeseen circumstance, I plan to be there with my Daelim S2 250.

Anyone else going to chime in to help establish the beginnings of a count?

So, does that make two for poker run checkpoint assists? I think they are looking for three... If you're serious you should tell them so.

Oops, I guess the context of my post was not clear. I was merely saying I'd be at the Maxi-scoot rally, not the sportbike rally. I'm just curious as to what sort of attendance to expect from the scooter crowd.

Time for a different, less ambiguous thread, perhaps.

But can your scooters do highway speeds all day long like ours can when we get to the rally?

Haven't been riding the scoot much, mostly because the carb has been acting up. Yes, it will do 60, but it's not my rig of choice for the freeway. And no, I won't be at the rally either, I have to work to feed my motorcycle habit. I might try to bring it to IoV next year...

You can get in free from 10 am to 3pm Sunday at no charge. No rally pack or anything else. Just shop the vendors and sign up for the demo rides. They shut it back down to registered guests only after 3pm.

I think a good maxi-scooter rider could keep up with you in the corners where we could take away the horsepower advantage. On the flats, we'd lose because the engines aren't as big...but we'd hit the same top speed as long as it was 95 or so.

I hit 97 mph on mine when I was catching up with the group. I had no idea the bike was going that fast because it felt very good and stable. At that point, the thought crossed my mind to see how fast it would go, or to slow down and tuck in behind the group. I elected the safer route because I didn't want to cause a problem with the other riders. But at 97 mph, I was still accelerating.

I also ride mine on I-5 on a 60 mile round trip commute...and it hasn't had a problem in 18,000 miles...and it is only a little over a year old.

So I guess we could do "highway speeds all day".

Chris

Yup! My Silverwing is 600cc water cooled fuel injected. It cruses at 70+ 2-up and can reach OVER 100MPH EZ.
I can also store 2 full coverage helmets under the seat.

I did it
I did 105 on my Silverwing. It can do it. Would I do it again? No.

I went to Maxi Scoot Northwest in 2007 & 2008. Would I do it again? YES!!

What's interesting is that James 1300 secretly knows he would have more fun on his maxiscoot at the Gorge rally than if he brought his Sportbike. I hope he rents a trailer and brings them both! It would be a shame if he didn't...

For starters - they corner so much better!!!!!
