Subaru Impreza alternator belt?
Don't know if this is the best place, but I'm looking for someone who has the tools/knowledge to help out with an alternator belt replacement on my 02 WRX...

Steve.

Thanks for the link. I know I can do it myself, I just want it done right, hopefully with a torque wrench... I have the torque specs, instructions, etc. but it doesn't do me a lick of good without the tools. I figure it would be best to change out the AC and alternator/PS belts at the same time, since it's an easy operation.

Gotcha

You should buy a torque wrench, every man needs one.

I got one for like 29.00 craftsman, on sale at Sears.

torque wrenches are cheap.

you'll use it for everything once you get one.

Yea, I got one... 20 bones at Autozone. I just did it myself, it wasn't easy fitting that new belt onto the AC pump, to the point of maximum frustration. I was certain that the belt was too small, and I still am a little sketched out on the fact that the belt didn't fit the grooves all the way, it was a little displaced, but I got it on there. I hope it works itself out. I don't technically need an AC right now anyway. We'll see how it works in a few hundred miles.

Steve.

Easy job, 15 min to an hr depending on your exp level. I could do it over a 6pack, but I am in Vancouver....I had 4 imprezas and 3 WRXs once upon a time...miss them now...
And abt torque wrench, humm, I have one, but normally just feel stuff when tightening... It's just the way I am....
