jakewilson.com has always been the cheapest on tires for me.

Cool Puppy!
I put Shinko's on my 'Dual Sport'.
Well I had help. If I tried it myself I'd look like 'the puppy chas'in its tail!

I have ridden a 250 with Shinkos, and I was able to drag my knee on it just fine on it, but that's a relatively light bike with no horsepower. Little light bikes like that can run substandard tires without much drama.

I forgot about this forum's love affair for Shinko's, lol.

I have bridgestone battleaxes on my CB750. I don't have too much experience with other tires, but these seem to be good all-round rubber. I get my bike leaned over pretty hard and haven't really had an issue with grip, and they'll probably last a lot longer than super sticky tires.

I take it easy in the rain and they do fine. I actually just bombed up Bald Peak as hard as i normally do and didn't even realize it had started to drizzle. Did another "spirited" ride through the gorge with that annoyingly terrifying half dry/half damp greasy and was able to keep up with my friend who's maniacally fast. No grip issues.

All in all, i'd buy them again for general street riding.

So you have actually ridden on them, they worked fine, but you still think they are bad?!

Like most tires they are round, black and hold air. If youre just putting around, everything is fine. Its that last 1/2, 1/4 inch on the edge of the tires that determine how well a tire works for me. Bigger bikes with more HP and inertia tax tires edges even more.

Adorable! Our little one isn't quite so little and we are considering getting him a friend after we buy a house.

I have a cruiser, so I haven't done track days and I don't think I take my tires to extremes. Maybe I'm just boring. I do appreciate the advice and opinions, I feel overdue in learning about tires.

When I actually see someone go faster than me around a race track on them I will be impressed. So far all I have ever seen as proof of Shinko awesomeness is people saying "I run Shinkos, and I am super fast and they work great!"

Like I said, like pretty much any tire they work okay as long as you don't ask too much. A 250 and that dual sport posted above are both light bikes with no horsepower to speak of. I have also drug my knee on bald ass BT045's on an EX500. That doesn't make a bald ass BT045 a good tire.

I ended up getting Dunlop 404 if anyone cares getting them installed Saturday and going for a 150 mile ride with my dad and his friend end of April for my birthday! I am really excited! the ride starts and ends just north of smokey point cycle barn, should be a lot of fun!

D404 - Dunlop makes these in a lot of sizes for older bikes, not the most modern or best wearing, but that's not your concern.

On a Shadow? Total waste of money and a good tire.

He's Right! They are too much tire for the Flexy framed Shadow. No need to over spend on tires that will make the Shadow a hand full to ride.
Better to Check on Shadow Forums and get some educated suggestions.
Just about every tire maker will have a tire suggestion for your bike as well.

Remember just cuz it's on the inter-webs, don't make it true! I got that from a French model.
No, really!

I did check out a shadow forum and I don't feel I put enough miles on my shadow to need a higher mileage tire (current tires or the exedra which are high mileage and still have plenty of tread but bad cracks in the side walls due to age, tires are from 01, bought the bike in 2011) Heck I don't put enough miles on my bike period and I plan to work on that this year. Also recommended that I looked into are metzlers, shink and venom. Came down to price and went with the mid priced ones and was sad the white wall cost so much more or I would have gotten white walled. Im lookin forward to tryin out my new tires on a ride with my dad on the 27 of April! ok I won't wait that long but shorter rides till then.
