How do I fix it??? I have a 2008 Husky TE-610 and every time it's wet out my front brake squeeks like crazy once I approach a complete stop. It doesn't squeek until the last 3-4mph. It's driving me insane. I've never had a bike do this before. Help. |

Both dirt bikes have stock rotors that squeel like stuck pigs with any hint of moisture, sometimes they dont even need to be wet to be noisy. |

MAZDA years ago had a heck of a problem with squeeking brake pads on their pick-ups. But only in wet (Seattle area) climates. I lived on the east side(Dry) of the state and we never had the problems and customer complaints. There is also a chance you have managed to get something on the pads that cause them to squeek. I would remove the pads and Dress them. Then try them again. |

Your not done! While you have the brake caliper off the rotor and, using some brake cleaner and fine steel wool. Clean the disk off! Both sides. |

| Track School Dazed ![]() Joined: Oct 2005 From: CENTRAL I Ride: When I can | I took the brake pads out of the calipers and dressed them with drywall paper laid flat on a smooth surface, The drywall paper looks like screen door screen material but, is very coarse. Using a figure '8' pattern, I worked the pads on the paper until they where clean in appearance. The pads out of the SV-1000s looked like they had lots of material left prior to dressing them. TOP PIC: Stock pads prior to dressing. Bottom: Pad after dressing. The paper they are resting on is what i used to dress the pads, using a figure '8' pattern motion. ![]() |

Initially I was confused as to why I couldn't just use sandpaper until I started the process with the drywall paper and saw how it was able to get all the dust out of the pads. Sandpaper would have clogged up and pulled out chunks from them. Thanks James! |

Normally I'm the badass spelling superhero but my powers seemed to have let me down this time. ![]() Anyway, I've ridden in the rain and took a hot ride up to Washougal River Rd yesterday and I feel the sanding definitely fixed the problem. |
