| Newbie Joined: Dec 2012 From: Colorado Springs, CO | CB160 Front Axle??? I have a 1966 CB160. The forks that were on the bike when I got it had a lot of pitting on the tubes, so I got another set of forks, but the new ones are a little later year (I'm guessing 1968. The forks fit on the bike just fine, but the problem is that the old 1966 front axle I'm using is not working on the newer 1968 forks. The right (when on the bike) fork leg has a bigger axle hole on the bottom than the 1966 forks do. My question is... Is a 1968 front axle bigger on the threaded end than a 1966 front axle? If it is different, than I'll just find a 68 front axle and everything will go together just fine, but if its the same as 1966, then I don't understand why the axle hold on the lower fork leg is bigger, and I'll have to have a spacer made. Any help would be great. Thanks |
