If it's car oil, don't do it. Look on the back in the small circle. If it says SL, SM, SN Don't use it. It will ruin your clutch.

Especially in a 250 Nighthawk.
I use car oil in all my bikes: always have, and never had a clutch issue.

Cool story bro. Used that crap in my Katana, tranny shifted like crap and clutch was not right. Changed it out and it was fine. Oil is like a religion. There are a million of them and yours is always wrong.

I didn't come up with it. I borrowed it from a guy I know. But OH, how it is fitting when it comes to oil!

Diesel truck oil for the win... (shell rotella T full syn) no friction modifiers to screw up the clutch, and higher content of heavy metals (zinc) to handle the extreme loads of the gears in the transmission.

I'm putting HP4 without moly in my cbr600rr tomorrow and I will sleep just fine tonight. They had AMSoil 10w-40 but I'm not racing and it's $13/qt.

In my R1, after 1500 miles, the tranny would clunk with EVERY shift running Rotella. I changed it, and it ran fine.

I put repsol synth in there 1 time, and at 4k miles, it still felt amazing. Went back to Rotella, and at ~1500 miles, it clunked.

Not that I think Rotella will harm a bike, I appreciated the long smooth shifting.

The only reason I went to repsol, is I got it for free.

I'll use Rotella in my street bike, but not the race bike.

Yeah, I imagine it does, and I don't commute, so they were ALL higher speed, higher temp, canyon carving and trackdays.

OMG the pro honda GN4 10w-40 petroleum I was running was completely TRASHED after 3200 miles. I'm going full synthetic after this HP4 (petroleum/synthetic blend) is done for shizzle.

We just did a 6 hour endurance race on Rotella. Shifted amazing the whole 6 hours. Granted it's only 450 miles or so, but it was in anger....
