So I'm looking into some aftermarket lighting for my 10, and I was wondering if anyone knew how much wattage the stock system can handle? I've found some 100w monsters online that would be inSANE, but I don't wanna fry anything. An important note is that these lights will be replacing the stock headlamps, so I'm starting w/ zero wattage. Dumb question, I'm sure, but wiring and lighting are f'ing Greek to me. |

They make units that retrofit most bulbs and run at a lower wattage than incandescent. |

My kit was a retrofit done by me with a balast and harness from a new lexus. $Free.99 |

What retrofit are you looking for? Do you want to maintain a low/high beam? It can be done purely in HID...don't fall for the retrofit kits that use a regular halogen for the high beam... If you do insist on using PIAA, I would recommend the Xtreme White instead of the Dichroics...better usable light spectrum without melting the plastic headlight housing and bike wiring. The only reason I run them instead of HID is because I also have modulators...otherwise I would have HID in everything... Last edited by JohnnyM; 08-12-2008 at 11:48 PM.. |

My issues is that I was looking at it as a stock headlight replacement - which means I need the projectors too. And then there is the issue with having to go through state inspection. Im a lot concerned about whether they would pass a non-standard projector setup. |

A friend of mine has their setup and its NICE. 119, no tax, free shipping. SLIM digital ballasts (what you want) in any color temp you want. Thats for 2 bulbs/ballasts. ![]() These are just bulbs, no reflectors. Installation is def more of a pain if you need housings too, but worth it. HIDs in the wrong housing are bright, but throw light everywhere.... Last edited by ninjaofdoom; 08-13-2008 at 08:01 AM.. |

| At Banned Camp Joined: Aug 2006 From: Kirkland | ![]() Alright so you don't have two true projectors. The high beam is...the low beam is diffused to spread the light around. If you want true true projectors, you can do something like this...or this kit Or you can just buy bulbs and be done with it. Last edited by wordsareforplay; 08-14-2008 at 08:28 AM.. |
