Ok...it looks like everyone is starting to lean towards August. Here's what I'm thinking:

Friday August 14th to Sunday the 16th

Thats two weeks after the Sportbike Rally in the Gorge which I know a number of us are attending.

I'm more than wiling to semi-take the reins on this thing and kinda play head coordinator if needed. Right now, most of the campsites are available but I'm sure they'll book fast as everyone is doing the "staycations" this year.

So whatya say guys Aug. 14-15-16 ?!?!?!?!?

Has anyone looked at reserving a tent site yet? From the quick look I took it looks like all the tent sites are first come first served. We should start a singular thread for this in one of the forums so that we don't get stuff scattered all over the place.

Might be easier to try getting a preliminary headcount, so we know how many tents there are going to be, and call the campground to see if they have any ideas. Maybe they have a specific area they would prefer to place such a large group in to keep them together, so the noise isn't scattered all over the campground the entire weekend. Just a thought.

When I looked at the campground website...big chunks of the spots were available. I will look into this today and report back. It maybe a simple matter of me booking one...giving everyone the location on the map...and everyone expands out from there. Regardless..I will report back on this by this afternoon !

Took a quick look at available campsites online...theres a bunch available on the southern end of the campground...down by the star in this picture

We definetly need to get on this though and get em booked...because my guess is they will go fast

I think the little RV icon things on the "Enhanced" map are throwing me for a bit of a loop. Anyway, it looks like the best group of sites that are currently available would be A1-8, B1-5 (6-8 are available but a bit further away, and C1 & 2. These are located near the entrance. I say we start snapping these bad boys up and expand from there.

on that ^^^

We want to initially get A001 thru A008 , B001 thru B003 and C001 & C002

For the late committers...just on the othe side of the road that splits up the two campgrounds there are a TON of sites that are just yards away that is first come first serve. Those are like K001-K020

So I've committed and gotten A003...Start booking guys so we can cluster together !!!

Am I seeing this correctly, there is only a max number of people, not tents... so up to 8 people can be on one spot... 2 or 3 tents, and we can get more of us in a smaller area...

Min 1, max 8. So we could start doubling or tripling up if we need to. I think the best plan would be to get as many sites as possible and then we can start adding more people to the sites we have. The sites I've been looking at all say 1 vehicle max but I'd guess that refers to motor homes and such.

Ok, so I closed the Eugene, Roseburg, Bend and Corvallis/Albany stickied SOEMW threads and posted a link to this Medford one so we can keep it together and so 1 Red-RR doesn't have to go crazy posting the same thing in 5 different sections...

Any reason we shouldn't post up in the General section (yikes!) and start ramping this thing up beyond manageable proportions? I started a thread but decided to wait for your approval.. LOL. It starts out a little somethin like this:

"So we're copying the most prestigious event around, in order to make weekends of debauchery accessible to the masses"

Probably a little much, but I know there are Portland folks that might be down for something like this.

Also, I hope they aren't filling up too quickly-- I'm waiting for payday (tomorrow.)

Hahahaha..yeah I ran one post up in General Discussion and havent bumped it. I figure we have spread the word pretty good. If this becomes an annual event then we can get serious about some stuff...but this our first year..so I think weve done our job.

Maybe we can do a roll call this weekend and see who has what spot so we can get organized and do a head count...

You can always pay with the "float". It takes them a couple days to get it from your account. You can make paying the bills an adventure, always hoping the pay will be there before the bills get to the bank. With practice, you can get the timing down to a science.

I'm in, B002, bringing truck, motorcycle, and boat. B001 would have been my first choice after seeing it, but it got booked between last night and today. Hopefully someone in our group got it because it was a BIG spot. Probably put 5 or 6 tents in it.

Talked with the folks at the information booth and they said if you bring your own motorcycle in your truck, it doesn't count as an "extra" vehicle. But, anyone coming in on their own motorcycle and staying the nite needs to check in at the information booth and they are considered "extra" vehicles.
