Hey everyone! I'm primarily a lurker 'round these parts but I want to tell you about a really good cause that brought me out from the shadows.

Here's the background:

On Oct 24, 10 year old Chase Grimes was severely injured while competing in a Motocross race at the 2009 Oregon State Championships in Salem. He suffered several broken bones to his back, both his legs, and feet. He has so far undergone numerous surgeries at Doernbecher's Children's Hospital in Portland.

I'm participating in a fundraiser bowl-A-thon on Sunday Dec 6 to help raise money for Chase and his family. All donations and support are greatly appreciated.

Details:

What: Bowling
Where: Lava Lanes, Medford Oregon
When: December 6, 2009 @10AM
How Much: Only $5.00 per person for 3 games (shoes included!)

We are also raising money based on pledges per pin. For example, if you average a 135 for the 3 game set and you get a pledge for $0.10 per pin you just helped raise $13.50 to help get a kid back on 2 wheels.

This event is open to everyone so bring your family and friends!

This is a great riding community and I have been proud to see us rally around similar causes in the past. I know we can do it again.

Is there a bank account set up in his name I would like to donate ,But I live in Ferndale.

Hey Zippi, I posted your message on the Southern Oregon Speedway forum to hopefully get more help. I work at the track and think you might get some help from our racers there.

Yes, there is. Friends/family set up a paypal account... we have flyers at work with info about the paypal account, a spaghetti feed, poker runs... and one other event that will also benefit chase and his family.

I will try to remember to bring one home and post more info about this tmrw...

BENEFIT AUCTION AND SPAGHETTI FEED: Saturday, Nov 21st Jackson County Expo Padgham Pavillion. Auction & raffle atsrt at 11 am, spaghetti lunch starts at 12 pm. Adults $5, kids 6-12 $3, under 5 is free.
