I hate to say this, but if this was for a military training, it may be too late as this was already posted about a month ago. So the enemy probably aready has it.

It's why you're never supposed to fixate on anything, ever. Not just when riding a bike, but even in a car where it's far more likely to just "zone out" staring straight down the road. Even moving your eyes a fraction of a degree cancels out the effect. This was one of the first things they taught in Driver's Ed at my school. "Move your eyes and switch targets several times per second. It doesn't matter exactly what you're looking at, you will see and notice more of the road and its hazards than if you only look at the immediate road ahead."

Coupled with the venerable "keep your head on a swivel" of course...

Keep your eyes moving - same as keeping your mind moving...
Troxler effect is very REAL - and as such can be very dangerous.
Our visual system responds best to CHANGE - not steady....
The idea is to SCAN not LOOK - it is a technique that is learned.
I do have a wee bit of expertise in this!!
