Once her husband was okay with it & agreed to fund it the search began. I was focusing on Ninja 250's etc but a few weeks back she informed she wanted more of a cruiser style. Last week I found a clean 1986 Honda Nighthawk 450 in one on my customers barns. It was real clean & hardly ridden. He too had purchased it years ago for his daughter to learn on but she lost interest. We got it for a great price. It had new tires & battery & ran like a champ. I got it to 75MPH in sixth gear. After the deal was made, I rode it the 20 miles home from Quincy to Ephrata. What a fun old bike! I took twisty Martin Rd & enjoyed listening to the 450cc four cycle purr along. Nobody can bad mouth a solid old Honda. Honda got it right. I'm looking forward to watching my daughter learning to become a great rider. That is two of her three kids in the picture. Her 10 yer old daughter was in school. Ride on Anna! ![]() Last edited by Saddletramp; 05-24-2012 at 08:49 PM.. |

One of my fellow employees rode a Honda 175 when he was in high school/college in Canada & said he too lusted after a Nighthawk 450 in the mid-eighties. They must have been cool bike in thier time. I rode a Honda MT250 in high school in the seventies. It was one of the few street Honda two-cycles that Honda ever produced. I'll always be a Honda man at heart! |
