That way when you encounter nice roads and cool people you can offload and go scratch for a bit. Ya need something to talk about while sipping on your frap on the slab. ![]() -Wolf- |

We rented one back in '08 out of Nashville and spent three days riding through the south, Arkansas, Alabama, Mississipi, Tennessee...it was awesome for a change to slow down and see the sights and meet the people of the back roads. (Cue banjo music.) Now, we did manage to scrape a few pegs on the twisty stuff, and those bikes will hustle through the corners when cropped....love the adjustable air suspension....though my wife did fall asleep once and asked me to pick up the pace. (How aften does that happen? |

The 1800's ride like a sports bike & have oodles of power. The size & weight of the machine go away as soon as you roll forward. If I rode two-up alot for long distances a Goldwing would be my first choice. We test rode a used one at Chet's in Quincy & thought long and hard about buying one. It's one of the few bikes made that really hold thier re-sale value. At one time. Chet's was one of the highest volume Goldwing dealers in the US! Stop in & talk to Rob the owner....I bet he'll let you try one out. I've ridden several 1800's & 1500's. I don't think you're crazy at all. |
