The units i have tried from other manufactures work somewhat but have a noticeable pulse. Not at all confidence inspiring in a hard stop. I started out with the rear brake only on sandy/dirt street conditions and was a little surprised it was completely smooth. So much in fact i did it again thinking i had yet to get the ABS working? It did the same thing, stop smooth and without any notice of the ASB units help. After good results on the rear i got brave and tried the front braking semi hard thru a sandy section of road without any cars around. Nothing happened. I tried it again in panic mode standing hard on the front brakes and this time tried to get the tire to at least start to break free and it simply would not. Just a smooth stop. I'm not just waving the flag for Ducati, I didn't like ABS on bikes until it was refined to this level. |

I've heard the new CBR's with ABS really works nicely but adds a pretty hefty weight penalty |

I think it makes sense on that type of bike, I wouldn't want it on a Supersport/Superbike, but maybe that's just me. I guess it's like my car though. If I want to have fun I turn Sport mode: on, DSC: off, S-mode --> 6. |

I've never used it though so don't have an opinion on it one way or another. | |

I've never activated it except on dirt on purpose but it's nice to know it's there. With the f800's system there IS a pulsing in the levers..different from the real modern systems. Even still, it works really well. I can grab a full hand full of break on dirt and get to a pretty good stop without ever washing out the front end. |
