I Ride: Like a Boss
Ironic or just dumb?
So today I was pulling into the gas station and see another bike on the other side of the island as me. As I am waiting for the gas attendant, I notice that he is riding a big black cruiser. I then notice that he is totally decked out in Harley gear. The turtle shell helmet with Harley on the back, the harley shirt, coat, bandanna, chaps and I don't know what kind of black leather boots he had on but I could only guess that his feet were also paying homage to Mr. Harley as well.
So of course after seeing this and kind of laughing to myself, I can't help but wonder what kind of harley he is riding. I look and low and behold it is not a Harley at all! But in fact he was riding a Honda.
Now at this point I was kind of puzzled. Why would someone don full Harley Garb, and I bet he even had on harley underwear, and as it appears to me that he did not in fact own a Harley. I found it rather ironic to try and be pulling that one off. As he started his bike it sounded like a geo metro. Nothing there. I mean really dude? you think you are a big bad biker but can't even put pipes on your machine.
As I rode home I began to think how dumb that it. I imagine it similar to owning a miata and vesting in complete Ferrari apparel. I can't imagine that I would ever do that, but is it just me, or is that guy a complete tool? Or am I just being over critical of strange people trying to feel good about themselves?

It's not really that I care. I just found it really kind of funny and rather ironic. IDK, I guess I mostly just wanted to share with someone else. I guess do what ever makes you happy.

Maybe he likes the Harley look, but thinks Honda makes a better bike!

I've ridden around in my harley shit on my beemer plenty of times. I especially enjoyed doing it to rile up the few elitist members of the old local bmw group.

Im gonna go with couldn't afford the harley so he got the honda, much cheaper. Yet the gear was all harley leathers because 1. Harley leathers are good quality 2. Your not gonna wear a honda shirt with a harley jacket. So im guessing its what every person on the forum preaches. Dress for the slide not the ride. Not defending him just saying its a possibility. Now Im a noob but I think harleys are a lot more than a honda

Or hes just being a TOOL

How dare this guy ride around with the wrong brand name on his gear? What an affront to your tender sensibilities.

If he's going to ride a Honda he should get a full set of Honda-line racing leathers, or at least some nice flip flops and OP shorts.

Let's hunt this poser down and slap his kill switch.

Don't forget to squeeze the brake.

Maybe he was on his way to a Harley Costume Party, but also enjoys Honda's reliability?

Who cares?

Heck, NONE of my gear is from matching brands (Joe Rocket, Diadora, First Gear, Teknic, Oxtar, etc.) And even my (Franken)bike is heavily confused.

I asked a Vegas hooker to "squeeze my brake" and she charged me $50.

Sometimes I would ride my Shovelhead when I was wearing a BSA shirt.
Really, I would.
