| Streetfighter ![]() | ![]() How about the Cats that actively use a GPS while riding? I bet there isnt over 10% of this forum that could honestly say they rarely use their phones while driving. And the percentage of hands free users would not be much higher....,honestly |

Then got mad at me for being in my lane or something. I do know that Oregon especially OSP and Hermiston will write you a ticket in a heart beat for talking or texting. |

Very nearly 100%, including cops (but they get a pass because I know they have cat like reflexes and are trained in ninja phone ops while driving) | |

I believe in giving a citizen a chance to fight for their right, in most issues. So by giving someone a legal ability to invade you like that, and destroy your property, is ridiculous. That said, I too notice a trend in people talking on their phones while driving. And yes, a good chunk of the people who almost run me over seem to be on their phone. And people caught breaking the law in a more 'major' way (speeding 10+, swerving, failing to stop, etc.) should be liable for a bigger ticket if they were on the phone. |

| Seņor verde Joined: Mar 2011 From: Kirkland I Ride: behind the girls. | I don't text or talk on a cell phone while driving. I can count on one hand the number of times I've answered my phone while driving and still have a finger left over to pick my nose, and I never make a call. When I did answer the phone it was because it was the 4th time my wife called in the last two minutes, and i answered long enough to tell her "I'm driving, I can't talk, goodbye". I don't appreciate it when I see drivers do stupid stuff near me while they are obviously distracted by something else like a phone. However, i find it laughable how over the top some of you people act about phones. Despite whatever bullshit statistics have been compiled, i question the wisdom that cell phones distract people to the degree some of you nutjobs portray. But WTF, let's go with it for a minute. Truth is, it's not just phones that distract people. I don't see you people demanding we do something about all the other crap that distracts drivers from...well, fucking driving. Crap like eating fast food, putting on make up, fiddling with radios/tvs/stereos/cbs, or messing with gps or aaa maps, reading news papers or phone books, shaving, adjusting heaters or air conditioners, picking up stupid shit off the floor that fell off the dashboard like stuffed animals, or having real animals sitting in the lap, or smoking, or getting a blowjob. I've seen all that crap and a whole lot more. And then there's the biggest distraction of all...the thing that distracts me the most...passengers! When are you cell phone whiners going to start demanding we do something about all that shit? When are we going to outlaw all those activities that have nothing to do with actual driving? When are we going to rip radios and air conditioners out of cages? When are you going to demand we rip passenger seats out of cars and get rid of the biggest distraction of all...passengers that never shut up? Oh, I forgot, you're not...because you whiners do all that shit! Unless you advocate doing something about all that other crap that distracts people as much or more than cell phones, everytime you start whining about cell phones...I'm left to conclude that you're a full of shit sniveling little fucking hypocrit that should be ignored...or maybe have your tongue cut out. That is all. ![]() |

| Moto2 Contender | Nothing distracts like a cell phone call. Adjusting the radio, eating, applying makeup: all of those activities take your attention away for a moment or two at a time, and you can time it for when you're stopped and such. But, a cell phone call demands constant concentration to listen and respond, and the person you are talking to has no idea what you are doing at that moment, so they don't shut the fuck up when you're entering an intersection or trying to figure out what exit to take, as someone sitting next to you and talking to you would. A person sitting next to you also is another set of eyes and ears, so you are actually safer having someone sitting next to you while driving. Texting is even more distracting and takes your hands off the steering wheel. That's lunacy. |

| Superbiker Joined: Dec 2005 From: Marysville I Ride: A lifted JK 0|||||||0 | who really gives a shit about cel phones. you ban them and the next thing you know people get distracted by boobs running by, playing with the radio, putting on eyeliner, petting their dog, slapping their kids. fuck remove the turn signal knob too, you dont want to play with that or you might get into an accident. face it, you ride a motorcycle. get over it, people will still use cel phones. i personally can walk and chew gum at the same time and have no problems driving with a phone in one hand. either you are a retard and cant drive (most of the planet falls into this category) or you can. if you cant deal with having cars swerve into you from time to time, get off your bike and park it. i was riding before people had cel phones. trust me, they did not need the help of a cel phone to drive like retards. the ops idea of impounding personal property is not good IMO. the government should have no right to impound personal property unless it is evidence in a felonious act. we dont need any more retarded ideas for government agencies to strip away more of our rights. next thing you know ideas like this lead to the government impounding whatever they see fit. thanks but no. |
