| Superbiker ![]() | RZ350 = hell on wheels w/ Toomey expansion chambers..guessing 52+ HP? w/ stock motor. We have near 30,000 miles on the same set of pistons!! most reliable two stroke I've ridden. But then we baby this one. mainly 6k~9k rpms and no higher. How high do you need to go on the street anyway? RD400F= easy as pie to work on, sounds awesome w/ light motor mods (turned into a 76~78 RD400 motor basically, heads included) and pretty reliable, once you get rid of the points and go electronic ignition. Probably 42 RWHP...last time i dyone'd a set w/ spec II chambers it was that. I got 14,500 miles on this last year (set an 8.5k rpm rev limit...i think that was a wise decision!) before i needed a top end rebuild. Years of blowups (both on the bike and w/ 2 stroke forum members!), experimentations and learning and now i'm getting some longevity. <$$----you pay your dues if you keep these long enough. LOTs of swearing...i was in the Navy 83~87..so like a drunken sailor sometimes. the main reason is small, light two strokes w/ a built in slipper clutch. did i mention cheap? a good set of bars, rearsets and a decent built motor...lots of fun. I'm really disgusted that 4 stroke 600s are now $10,000 dollars a pop....BARF! Last edited by holypiston; 05-24-2012 at 10:45 AM.. Reason: cheap 2 strokes for everyone...dam dirt bikesa re going cheap!! |

Is that the same displacement as a heritage soft tail? Because I rode one of those too. It was weird. Oh and the big sportster before that. |

It is a blast when things get twisty and there's enough power to lift the front if I get stupid on the exit. Most of all, its forgiving of my many, many mistakes and I've got to admit, its fun passing folks on bigger bikes. |
