Thanks for all the input, I knew I was not alone wanting the ugly thing off. Pics uploaded tomorrow with the new "non sticker'd frame' lol

Who knew a sticker topic could be such a great debate....

Yes removing the VIN is illegal as the VIN has to be present and readable. This means that as long as the bike's VIN can be read you are fine. You cannot cover, conceal, alter or remove a VIN Plate or Stamp. This said the sticker is neither a stamp or plate permanently attached to the bike.

The "sticker" is there because of all the crap on the front of newer bikes. A Cop can't get to the VIN stamp without removing a bunch of parts IE; fairing, fairing support, wiring harness and so on. I the olden days you could just look behind the forks and see the VIN stamp.
My NSR had no sticker and good luck reading the stamp. It's there, just hidden behind bolted on crap and the chassis has been painted black.
My CBR has one and it's fugly, but I don't care, it's a rider.

All my bikes have had tons done to them just to make it look better.
WTF is wrong with making it look nice?

Just sayin.

I love how uptight some can get when different views don't fit with theirs.

Again, my opinion. If you're sooooo worried about a vin sticker making your bike look "bad", I think you're a poser.

Of course I pulled off all the "warning" stickers and tire info stickers. They had no use or important information to me. The tire sticker doesn't apply, I don't use those tires listed. The helmet warning sticker doesn't apply to me, every place I ride, its required to wear a helmet. The vin sticker actually makes it easy for others to read the make/model/year of my bike. Which is important for where I ride. I also think its important for everyday general riding. It makes it easier for the cops to verify the bike. If they're still nit convinced, they can look at the stamp. Also, I don't like talking to fags like half of you when I see your bikes. So I look for the vin tag because its easier for me to figure out what year/make/model your bike is, instead of asking and having to talk to you for a couple minutes.

WOW....Not that big of a deal bro... Again I appreciate all the responses, I knew I was not the first to think about it, just did not expect such love for a VIN sticker...

Gotta love the internet...

Thanks?

Also, I'm kinda grumpy.
Hi Donny.

Took mine off and stuck them under the lid for the tool kit.

Guess I'm a poser... Maybe one day I'll be a super srs racer and not care about such trivial aesthetics... Until then, not having them on the frame gives Donny a reason to talk to me.

Great Idea, I may try this, if I can get them off in one piece...

600rr: frame had no numbers, came from factory that way
1000rr 07: was damaged in unfortunate garage hi-side, removed remaining sticker.
gsxr 1000: removed by previous owner.
