Touched by Evil? More like beaten with the ugly stick! Sorry, but the 999 is the least attractive Duc ever made IMO. I would much rather have a 916, 996, 998, 1098, 1199...
It is hard for me to believe they were actually made by the same company.

It is hard for me to believe they were actually made by the same company.

I loved the way too brief time I spent on a 999. I know many think it is ugly as hell and maybe I've got a thing for ugly bikes (ie: my FZ1 and GSXR).

Personally, I think it was such a style departure from the 916, 996, and 998 (beautiful bikes to be sure) that most folks just couldn't get their heads around it. To me, the 916-1099's are like dead sexy red heads oozing with class and style. The 999 is the quiet brunette with the sexy eyes and low cut dress standing off to the side......and it’s the quiet ones that you always gotta look out for.

^^yup.

I know I'm in the minority, but I really appreciate the form following function design of the 999 bikes. Narrow, sleek, aerodynamic. Even the dual sided swing arm is a win to me. now If I could just shoe-horn an 848 motor into one.....
