New Bike in the Garage - BMW G650 X-MOTO
Well, my former 2009 Kawi KLX250S just wasn't cutting it on the daily freeway commutes and it was too far to travel for some decent off-road riding so I traded it in today for a 2007 BMW G650 X-MOTO with about 3,950 miles on it.

The G650 will share the garage (and commuting duties) with the 2010 S1000RR.

Interesting, where did you find it? I'm thinking about adding a smaller lighter bike now that the ZX-11 is gone.

Also, a little RoundUp will take care of the stuff growing in the driveway cracks.

The 650 is much more composed at freeway speeds than the KLX (which can be expected), top speed is listed around 105 mph so I shouldn't have to work the bike to keep up with traffic flow. Suspension is harder than a dual sport, but softer than my S1000. The new bike is pretty easy to ride at slow speeds, but tends to drop into turns (not as bad as the KLX, but more so than the S1000), given the amount of suspension travel I'm not surprised. Power is adequate for my needs (about 53 hp at the crank), but not as wild and crazy as the comparable KTM and Husky motards.

Saw the bike listed on South Sound BMW's website, test rode it yesterday. Liked it a lot better than the dual sport model (G650 X-Challenge) I test rode in Seattle (Ride West BMW) on Friday.

As for the driveway crack vegetation, I'm been a little lax this summer and need to pick up some more weed killer, thanks for the tip.

Like this one.

Owned the 2004 R1100S for about 5 years from 2005 to 2010 when I traded it in for the first S1000RR (may it RIP).
