A few seconds later my front end slipped out and fell flat on my side with a nice bruise. No front brake or turns, not sure what happened. Ended up cutting a headlight wire in half that shorted out later that ride and left me stranded with a broken fuse. :( Someone stole my toolkit earlier, so I couldn't do it myself. Fun times. |

One of my friends cant even take his sliders off to replace them because the Allen head on the bolts is ground down flat. My most recent scare was headed to work about 6am, turning left through an intersection my front tire hits a wet spot on the road and slid about a foot then caught traction. |

| Licensed Joined: Nov 2011 From: Dayton, OR I Ride: '99 Triumph Daytona 955i | Two for me, both on my 250. First was an error in judgement, riding on a road with gravel on because, in my head "I know where the gravel is, I'll pick a good line and go slow". Well I was going slow but that didn't matter when gravel "snake" down the middle of the lane decided it was going to turn a tighter line than I could. Front tire washed out and down I went. I face planted (thank god for full face) and tank landed on my knee resulting in a "tableau fracture of the tibea" which is doctor speak for "it will hurt a lot, be weak and there ain't shit we can do about it". Second time was, of all things, on a new rider ride. Went into a corner too hot, SRed basically locking my arms and then target fixated on the side of the road. In hindsight KNOW I could have made that corner at the speed I was going had I just looked through the turn. I was lucky, minimal damage to my bike and just a lot of soreness for me. Considering where I crashed it could have been much much worse. They both taught me very valuable lessons. |

| Permit Joined: Aug 2012 From: Tillamook | About 2 weeks ago was out exploring some logging roads with a bike not really meant for gravel terrain ![]() Wasn't going very fast, but managed to low side and the bike slid out from under me. Luckily down a grassy patch, just bent the shifter a bit. Me on the other hand my left foot caught the ground and I kinda stood up for a sec as the bike slid out. When I got up and put weight on the leg I nearly passed out from the pain. Thought I seriously messed something up. Well, I didn't (I think). Still getting a sharp pain in the side of my knee off and on. But I'm able to walk and run so... Think I'll stick with paved surfaces. |

Made it 22', then I must have given it some throttle cause I felt the back tire slide out. Only thing damaged was my pride. The 18" deep snow cushioned the bikes $$$ Tupperware. Lesson learned? Want to take a bike through snow, put some knobbies on it. Or don't try and show off in front of the spouse, cause he's just gonna laugh at me. |

| Pit Crew Joined: Jun 2009 From: Amboy, WA I Ride: Suzuki Burgman 650 | 5 times..all under 5 mph. One time driving into a gravel parking lot and my front tire "twisted" in a hole of loose stuff. One time when I was first riding, grabbed too much throttle and went into a ditch. One time when I forgot to take my padlock out of my rear rotor. One time when I grabbed a handful of front brake on a gravel road way before i grabbed the rear brake..causing the tire to swerve outwards. Finally, I was home after work and when I put my leg out to steady myself, my knee buckled. I did a slooooooooooow drop down to the ground. When I got up, a girl in her car came up next to me and gave me a thumbs up before driving off. I don't know whether the gesture was for controlling the laydown or whether it it was a sarcastic gesture for dumbass. That's all for now and hopefully forever |

| Moto2 Contender | Front tire picked up a nail and I went down at about 35 mph. Lesson: wear gear, even on "easy" rides. A deer and I feigned right and left as we closed on each other. In final seconds, she jumped in front of me and we collided. Lesson: Deer are spooky. When you see one, slow down immediately until safely past. Person I was following skidded, slowing abruptly as a result, we collided. Another time, someone was following me closely and I blew my line, causing them to lose theirs and go off-road. Lesson: Just because you know the rider in front of or behind you and their "style," don't assume they are always in control and can be trusted not to do something either stupid or unavoidable. Maintain a proper gap. |

I was wearing a tshirt, no gloves, jeans and high tops, and didn't have the sense to let goof the handlebars as I was rocketing through those brambles. I was quite a sight, I was shredded, almost like a thousand paper cuts. |

I took it like a champ. No lube. Bike shot out from under me, I ended up on her hood the R1 was hit by someone across the intersection who was taking his free right hand turn (bike was rolling in 1st when I got hit and kinda just kept going). |

Collided with his left rear quarter panel and totaled my first bike. No injuries. ![]() Second bad one; Took a left hand corner a little too fast on cold tires. Low-sided at about 60 mph, and began tumbling after going off the road. Totaled my 2nd bike. No injuries. ![]() ![]() Third bad one; Don't remember it. Apparently had a really bad tank slapper, flew over the handle bars and landed on my head. No pics. Took a ride in a helicopter. Oddly, the bike survived. |

Police gave me the stranger than fiction news. It was my car. Somebody stole it two days before and will I found it. The insurance policy on the car paid for my broken arm, the totaled CBR 600 and the $1500 in damage to the Toyota. 2008: Got stupid in the rain and lost control on rail road tracks, low sided about 10 MPH. Picked the bike up and rode off. |

I actually had to honk to get his attention while straight in front of him. I always wondered how the insurance would have worked out on that one. |

| Pit Crew | 32nd July 1980 at 5:39 PM. I still remember that moment when it was snowing and I was riding my 2001 ZX12R from Ellensburg to MILLCREEK. Right when I was near snoqualmie pass on I-90, a brand new 2012 Busa pulled up right next to me, revved his engine, I downshifted, left him in the dust. 5 minutes later the busa guy got pissed off cuz his $14k bike lost so he eventually pulled up right next to me again and kicked my bike and I crashed! |
