Since I already made the trip to Arlington I took a look at the motorcycle lot and in the midst of the totaled sport bikes that had been looped from attempted wheelies I spotted this ducati that was covered in smoke residue. I fired the bike up (not sure if I was allowed to) and it sounded badass. I wonder what could have been damaged if the bike still turns over and starts? http://www.copart.com/c2/motorcycle_...SEARCH_RESULTS |

Depending on the oil leak situation and possible engine damage as a result, I'd go 2-3K on it. It really doesn't look that bad. |

I only had it on for like 1 minute. Oh and there was some bubbling in the plastic on the lower part of the fairing so I guess probably an oil fire. | Superbiker | Buy it, fix the oil leak, clean it up, and paint it matte black..... and then apply some new decals... that thing would look awesome! |

With that said, it looks repairable, but I would like to have a complete inspection done so you know what your in for and it will come with a salvage title, so cut the value of the bike in half. Let say it;s a 6000 dollar value bike (I don't know what there worth, it just for example) so out of the blocks, it worth 3000, Now lets say it needs a wiring harness and the repairs will run 2000 dollars. So the most you would want to pay is 1000. |

Just to see. Wait. No. Second thought. I don't even know how to ride mine. Damn it. That would be pretty badass though. Last edited by take risks; 09-03-2012 at 10:25 PM.. |

Hell I have enough work cut out for me in the garage right now. I still have an empty gsxr frame that I need to swap out of my bike with a cracked frame.... |

I just looked into the web page from the dealer auction house and would like to maybe purchase a motorcycle for this winter project. Is there a member of this forum that has a dealer license that would hook a brutha up with using his/her privilege to get one from the seller? I just looked into the OR DMV and the license is over $1000, so of course I'd be willing to pay for this access. |

| beansbaxter is too lazy to come up with something but he will get to it, eventually... ![]() | I swear I saw this exact bike in the parking garage at Duc Seattle. I walked up to it thinking wtf is all over it? Must have been dropped off to determine if it was a total loss. And apparently it was. |

Did see something interesting though, if you look at the top of the columns where you can sort, if you click the down arrow it shows you how many of each make is listed for auction. Hardley has 392 auctions listed. The next highest is Honda with only 250. Interesting slice of data possibly showing who is wrecking out there. |

I have heard of online horror stories of parts being stolen, vehicle in different shape than pics, etc. What I would recommend is that you inspect whatever you want in person (it's free) the day of the auction. Then hang out close by during the auction period and if you win prepare to remove the item from there property the same day as auction because there are tons of fees. Some fees include bidding fee (a buyer fee for winning the auction?) storage fees for every day vehicle remains on their property, loading fee (if they need to use forklift to load vehicle, etc. This will also ensure that if a bike you want has accessories that are very expensive (hard bags for an fjr, aftermarket parts, etc.) will remain on the vehicle after your purchase. Remember that lots of people look at the bikes after the initial pics are taken so I imagine there may be a chance of thieves stealing parts off the stuff in the yard. |
