What I get from this very informative thread is that there is a chance that everyone is different and rides differently.....perhaps in some given instances, no more "correct" than another. Very interesting indeed. It may even change my view of the world???

Unless you are on a supemoto then you dont even have your tires on the ground so using/not using them makes no fucking diffrence!

Disconnect your brake light when you ride with this group that way you can ride your own pace and there will be no discussion about whether you used the brakes or not.

I change gears prior to entering a corner so I am in a mid RPM range entering so I have good throttle response as I accelerate out of the turn. I have used brakes never in the corner unless needing to stop/swerve or otherwise avoid a obstacle.

I have tapped the front brakes just entering a corner more so to set the shocks/front end in the corner. I do not ride sport mainly the UJM style. I know other people do different things but as long as the rubber remains on the road you are doing something right.

Honestly after 30 years of riding I had to really think about what I do when cornering as I usually don't think about doing it anymore it just happens.

@Jason - sure come clean all the carbon out of my bike (I have never had it past 4th gear or faster than 60 mph (ish). Plus if you blow my fork seals you get to replace them and I get to watch so I can learn.

I just like to ride the straights like my butt is on fire, cram on the brakes at the last minute, stack up traffic behind me, then creep through the corner at 10 mph, and all to do it again.

Irritates everyone behind me, but then, it's not like I care. Should not have put the geriatric hippie in front.
