fuck, I don't care if you crash it.

I'm not gonna let you run for the hills, but you can come ride around a bit.

There's a little bit of hooligan coming out in this old man, even though I'm just a boring year round commuter.
All the vids I posted on on a DRZSM with SM wheels you can do just about everything a dirt bike does but not as fast in some areas

I still want to ride one though :(

you can find DRZ's for 2500 but get the SM as the swing arm is different and the forks are USD but otherwise the same as a DRZ dualsport.

FYI.. to the OP.. the DR is "AIR COOLED" where as the DRZ is "WATER COOLED"

Oh and you can do this stuff on them too

Just curious about the suspension. Don't know about the KTM, I don't think that's in my budget. Maybe used.

And I wouldnt head for the hills, that might burn a few bridges. And jail time is hell on career advancement.

What do ya'll think of these.

Too pricey. You can get a decent one with an exhaust for 3k. The only thing different in the years are the decals.

When you buy, ask them about oil changes, loctite fixes, and the ACCT. If they have no clue what you're talking about... run!

Much appreciated, and I of course would not pay what they were asking. Cash in hand has a way of speaking to people.

Mike let you take his DR out, and not me? Lol - doesn't matter - either way I bought that same bike from him - and I am so glad I did. It's been a blast so far. At my weight and height this thing is still easily manageable and does great on the freeway - that is where the extra weight DOES come in handy.

A DR is still able to be modified to be more street oriented - so don't count them out on your search - but as others have said - even some stretches of road have left me yearning for more of a "go fast" bike that can really dig into some turns.

Good luck hunting.

I took my dizzer sm in sumo trim on some ROUGH trails yesterday. And it was awesome. Pilot powers don't exactly hook up well on loose rock, but I kept her shiny side up.... lol.... But I did have a sweet get off on a nice smooth park trail earlier in the day haha.

I'll Try to post the go pro footage tonight, but I'm crunched on time lately.

Who needs an 18 21 set up? PSH! Not this guy. LOL

Oh and they are shipping the 2013 drz400sm to the USA this year and they look pretty damn cool. Blue ano wheels with a white/black color scheme.

The carbs go from $300-500 depending on if you get a used one off ebay or new.. then you install and jet.. so that's actually a really good reason to look at it.

If you can talk him down a bit, I think you'd have a super solid DRiz that you could ride for many years w/out really doing anything except tires, brakes and oil changes..

The 17"s don't hold up to high speed rock impacts.

I was at 30psi on Pilot Road 3's, killed the front and the rear rims.
