I Ride: 2011 Husky SMS630, 2007 CRF250R/SM, 2005 CRF450X
WR250X has 1st scheduled valve check at 23k miles (so pretty much never the way most people ride). That's low maintenance

Replacing tires on a motorcycle isn't maintenance. That's like saying filling the tank with gas is maintenance.

That totally depends on the commute. If you commute an hour down I-5, sure. If it's a quick jaunt through town, a supermoto is the perfect commuter.

They're topping out around 55 on the highway maybe 70 downhill..

It's a good bike (low maintenance, FI, 6speed, good mpg) if you're light. That being said, get a DRZ.
