Also, I'm tipping the scales at around 250 on a good day with no gear.. So the only way I could do 90mph on the wr is fre-falling from space with Felix. As a parking lot shredder with a medium pizza sized sprocket it would be a ton of fun.. but that would drop the top speed to around 35mph.. lol Last edited by sunofnun; 10-23-2012 at 01:10 PM.. |

For shortish commutes on B roads, they're a ton of fun. DRZ, XR650R (like this), KTM LC4, KTM 690, etc. are all good choices. If I didn't have too many bikes already, I'd be buying that XR. |

I normally am all about being self-taught, and the trail and error lifestyle, but its a bit more expensive when it comes to motorcycles .How many miles on a DRZ would be considered too much? I found a decent DRZ300SM with a few tasteful mods, but it has 13k on it. I'm trying to think about resale, in case I don't like SM, the DRZ, or want to upgrade in 6-12months. Thanks! |

13,000 is not to bad. But ask the seller these questions. With that many miles I wouldn't pay more than 3000 ![]() 1. Are the loctite mods done? 2. How often do you change the oil? 3. Does it have the 3x3 Air box mod done? There are more but I'm not 100% awake yet hehe. Go test ride it and see how it runs, shifts, stops, starts and you know the normal | |

Lots of people are scared of miles for some reason. Does it run good, have good compression, not blow smoke, not make funny noises? Its probably just fine. Buy it, but be prepared to get addicted to pimping it out with performance parts , just don't worry about big bore kits. |
