I Need Your Spare Change!
Trying to save up for this EBay listing. 1981 TZ500H. Not sure what the reserve is but he set the initial bid at $30,000. That leaves me about $29,998 needed after giving you my 2 cents. Can't cut and paste right now but here's the link.

Drool. Never even been started. Don't know if I would have the heart to start or ride it but can you imagine showing up to a track day with this? What would you do if you had this?

Actually you need $29,999.98. Unless you're suggesting you opinion is worth $2. In which I would argue.

That's my $0.02.

You have at least 3 organs and various other fleshy things you can live without and fetch a fair price on the 'open' market. Put up or shut up!

If it requires a trip to Candy Mountain, I'm out.

I Ride: SV1000S in the faster copper color, and a hell of a lot slower than I used to.
Bidding ended. 2 bids. Top bid 32,500. Reserve not met.

I guess he didn't answer the question about what the "jet skis" were to anyone's satisfaction.

I Ride: badly
While it is great to be able to see bikes like this in museums so that their memory will never be lost the first thought that comes to mind when I see this is what a waste of a great bike. Zero miles.... ride the damn thing like the Yamaha engineers expected and enjoy it, only then restore it for posterity.

^^ Precisely! That's why I voted to "give it away, TZs are for girls [and boys]." A TZ500 with 0 miles belongs in a museum. We may question the owner's decision to neglect such a wonderful bike for three decades, but must accept the fact that it's a wonderful museum piece now.

Give it to someone with enough space to waste that everyone can get a glimpse of its glory!

Forget the museum and all the unworthy people that would filter through such a place with their cameras flashing away.

Throw a tailbag on that bitch, tour the U.S. for a summer, drink lots of beer by night, flog that thing to death by day, and make lots of new friends along the way.

I mean seriously. It's not a fucking van gogh. It doesn't belong in a museum. It's a fucking bike and it belongs on the road.

Um...no
It's a RACE BIKE.
I've owned four or five TZ750's. They get rebuilt every 300 miles or so.
I've ridden a couple of them on the streets. Silly idea.

I Ride: a cruzzer
I'm with Jim on this one.
If I had the jingle and desire to buy it.
I would track it!!!
And feel somewhat guilty about trashing such a nice piece.

Its a rare find. 0 miles does make it a collectors dream.
I'm not a collector though.
Had a collector piece once and sold it to a good home before I ruininated it.

Fine..then I could do some track days along the way. What I couldn't do is have it sit in front of me and not ride it. Just looking at the photos makes me want to go ride.
