I can't count how many crashes I've seen video'd on that exact corner...

I think I'll just stay off the damn thing!

it's in calabasas canyons outside downtown LA right by the rock store.


and yes all the squids crash there

It must be my old man eyes, but it doesn't look like these people are going all that fast nor does the corner look all that deceiving (blind decreasing radius or something). What is bringing them all down?

its NOT fast at all.. I've ridden those canyons.. a lot of the riding speed in this area is 35-55mph. This corner has a slight decreasing radius.. but there are camera's there ever day.. huge poser factor.. I think you end up less then 20mph as you hit the apex?

I think the squids go down because they're trying to look good on camera?

Watching these crashes is very educational. Majority of them were caused by either focusing on something or not being steady on the throttle (one was a rider panicking in the middle of the turn and hitting dirt and another focusing on the camera).

Decreasing radius + Off camber corner exit + blind crest leading up to the corner + camera's on site + squi...

...well you get the point.

I Ride: Wearing ears.
Some of them don't even look like they are pushing it too hard, or doing anything wrong, but the rear just lets go. Tucking the front, I can understand, it's easy to touch the brakes and washout the front, but I wonder if the pavements bad, or it's just that deceptive on camera.

I imagine at least %60 of the wrecks are caused by illegal gravel...

I hear it's a RAMPANT problem down there?
