Got a new toy XL600V Transalp!
Could not believe what I saw when Dave posted this on his site. I have wanted one of these since the first day they came out. I will be driving over next week to pick her up. This is going to be a kick in the shorts. She is a 1989!

I have a pair of those side cases. You can put a dead body in each one. They are that huge.

I think I can safely say I will not test that aspect of the bag storage

I know...the first day they came out I was hooked but everyone that has come across for sale has been at a price that was not what I was willing to pay. You back on your island or home for the holidays?

Yeah they've held value amazingly well.

I'm still here on the island, not back till mid december for a month, then back here again.

Damn I'm jealous! I've always loved the translap. Same year motor as my vlx. Never understood why honda could just keep the translap specs and stuff it into the vlx since is basically the same engine! Damn you honda....

I've always wanted to buy one just to stuff the engine in my vlx, but then again, the translap is hella cool that I want one just to own anyways. And yes, they do hold their value very well!

so who else always likes Honda's bikes that failed to sell in America?

ie

transalp, only sold two years.

cbx (they had to give away the last production year)

gb500, two year run

valkyrie interstate 3 yr run

rune, sold two years.

vt500 ascot,

what else goes on the list?

Pacific Coast. (I owned an '89, and still would if it weren't for the fucknuts in the F350 that wasn't paying attention.) There is one in my future again when I get a bigger garage.

I'll spend the winter and tear her apart going through and replacing pieces parts as needed, refresh the motor and suspension and then its play time.

This one! Wasn't riding when it came out and have never had the opportunity to get one since. In fact, I know someone who has one and he won't sell it. Not for a reasonable price that is.

Great buy, very jealous. Honda have made some errors along the way, none more so than the new European Transalp is now more of a road going than a true adventure bike, the front wheel is getting smaller.

If Honda brought the Transalp back to the US could I please also have a CBR400RR to go with it
