Yes, in 1st & 2nd.

Removing inner airbox cover leads to even more torque (and bad-ass noise), but less top-end power.
Comes up too fast in 1st (causing me to cartwheel the bike once), easier to control in 2nd. Did one in 3rd once when the air temperature was very cold.

My wife likes the feeling of wheelies when she's on the back; says it's like taking off in an airplane.

I've heard that the first Generation FJR would and that is one reason they lengthened the swing arm for the Gen II. Haven't seen it done though.

I was sitting at a stoplight so I shifted my motorcycle to 6th gear to see if I could ride up to highway speeds without shifting, as soon as I let off the clutch and rolled the throttle on I LOOPED IT... My motorcycle has SO MUCH POWER!!! I roll a GSXR and I'm the awesomest! I'll make a video to prove it!

'08 R6 - not without an ECU flash. It'll lift the front a bit toward the top of first, but the throttle map is too restrictive for much else. WOT @ 5,000RPM isn't actually WOT.

YCC-T is Yamaha's way of saving you from yourself.

Look into FlashTune or EcUnleashed. Both can remove the 75% throttle restriction below8,000. My 06 however, does not have nearly the same restriction. With the 120hp it's pumping out, it will power wheelie in 2nd, and get just a little bit light in the front in 3rd.

Is it possible to tune a stock ECU or do you need a Power Commander?

Stock ECU can be done by Nels with ECUnleashed. Cool stuff!

Was waiting to see if Eric at EDR will get a FlashTune, then just have them do a full workup. As it stands, they have to send the ECU out for programming, which takes time and no small amount of money. I prefer everything to be done in-house whenever possible. For the cost of sending the ECU out for programming, I could just buy and donate a damn FlashTune system.

Money is the limiting factor right now. If EDR doesn't get a FT of their own by next year, I'll look into buying one for myself and just bring my laptop for Eric to fiddle with. In the mean-time, I am not at the skill level where I can find useful (non-hooning) benefit from more aggressive throttle mapping and power delivery. It took a year of riding and four track days just to get properly comfortable on this thing.

But to be on-topic, yeah, with a proper throttle map the bike would be capable of wheelie-ing through a couple gears. Safety First!

FWIW....neighbor has 2004 R6 with PCIII + Nels Tune....wheelies easily through intersections for maximum cage driver attention.
