I had a friend around here who raced Pro Fuel and Top Fuel in the AHDRA. (All Harley Drag Racing Assoc.) I held my tongue and didn't ask him why they needed a seperate league for Harleys.

AHDRA is in Woodburn every year in August/Sept.
2 pistons that turn over 12 times in a run just sounds so awesome vs a whiny 4cyl chain saw. But anybody flying that fast has to have arms and balls of steel.

I wouldn't want my front wheel to be off the ground for a quarter mile while I'm doing 200+ But then again, I don't want my front wheel off the ground when I'm doing 0-200 either...

If you have asperations of riding fuel bikes, come out to the track nad ride YOUR bike and learn how to launch it. You must crawl before you can run.
I usually just laugh at the people that tell you anyone can go fast in a straight line......
Think it's easy? Come on out and give it a try.

on that

I was thinking more in the fantasy leaugue category...if I won the lottery, and somebody gave me the oppurtunity, and i knew what I was doing, and I wasnt going to kill myself in the process.. I would love to do this type of thing...we can all fantasize right?!?!?

Ohhhh to be an eccentric billionaire with time and money and skills

Yea...we can all fantasize.
Or you can make it a reality...
Launching a big hp drag bike nad trying to get your head to catch up with the bike is one of the biggest rushes you can have. You, as a street rider, are simply not capable of Imagining how fast these bikes are.
That's not a slight to you or anyone else. It's just the truth. These things are the "Hand of God" in the small of your back.
The first time, you can't sleep for a week before. Can't eat. Go through teh waterbox and hope you don't kill yourself just heating the tire. Stage it and let it go. You think it's pretty fast and then the second stage of teh clutch hits and the blower boost goes through teh roof....
Makes my heart go pitty pat.

I would REALLY highly encourage anyone that wants to get involved to come out to teh track. There are plenty of people that are happy to give you advice and pointers.
It's a rush. And you never know where it'll take you. Hell...You might be the next Larry McBride or Ricky Gadson.

Spiderman was first in the 5's. Thats some movin'! Check the rule book and you'll see the craziest rule ever. If you drop your front wheel down at the end of the 1/4 mile on a record run your run will not count. The rear wheel makes the time. CRAZY

Sounds like a little conversation I had with a Buell rider. He told me that if you took two equal riders, a Buell will beat any bike out there.....

He also told me that the Buell Factory team has a rider in Moto gp..... I really don't even know where to start with that one.

I just let him go on and on after that while doing my best to hold my tongue. Of course eventually I failed and we got in a huge debate.
